I was at one of my favorite hangouts this afternoon and overheard two guys at the next table playing a word game. I nudged my way into the conversation and we all had a lot of fun. I figured Lit would be an excellent place to play this game as well.
The rules are simple: post a word that begins and ends with two successive letters in the alphabet. For instance, I will post a word that begins with A and ends in B. The next poster then has to pick a word that begins with B and ends with C, then C-D, then D-E, and so on.
If you get to a pair in which there is no word that would work (I can't think of a word that starts with I and ends in J, for example), feel free to skip to the next pair.
Post only single words; no phrases, hyphenated words, or slang terms.
I'll start:
Aplomb
The next word must start with B and end in C.
