I was doing some reading, and came across this ALPHA WOMAN Quiz, but it has questions for men as well. I think it applies to both.

As a mathematician by education, I wondered about that too =)

My theory is if you checked ALL of the check boxes, it would be 100% + 100%.
The number displayed to you shows how much check boxes of this category you have checked.
Some check boxes are linked to alpha counter and some to beta. If you don't check a check box this means you lose a point in Alpha category, but that doesnt mean you gain a point in beta at the same time.

Experimented, and this is indeed the case.
