This is my time of year when my headaches start up, nothing seems to help them. I have always thought it was ragweed but I'm not sure? I'm not really sneezing that much, just an ice pic in my left temple that really hurts. Ohio is really known for bad allergies.

Is there a time of year, in your area, that allergies act up or maybe you just don't feel well????

Headaches on one side of the head are usually migraine pattern. I think. Maybe someone with confirmed allergies that get symptoms only on one side or alternating sides can let me know.
So maybe it's a trigger for migraines but not a classic allergy pattern.

My youngest was just recently diagnosed with a shellfish allergy. He is sad. It came on out of nowhere because he is no stranger to shellfish.
Real bummer for him because his favorite restaurant in the whole world is Bubba Gumps.
Other than that none of us have many allergies. Mild hayfever and shit like that.

I'm on 100 mg of Topamax 2x a day for migraines. It usually keeps me from getting them. Yesterday and today have been kinda bad, I've got a sharp stabbing pain in my temple but at least, I can function.

Is Indiana really bad for allergies? Ohio is terrible.

Okay. I have migraines and whenever I get sick one way or the other, they get worse. So I can't catch a cold without having migraines with it.

Do you take anything for allergies?

Have you considered taking out the ice pick? Just a thought.;)

I'm a medical marvel, I have a "minor weeds" allergy (specifically plantain weed) which doctors swear cannot occur without also being allergic to grass. But I have no problem with any other grasses.

Plaintain weed causes these ungodly ugly red weals the size of a quarter to raise up on my skin on contact. It's a great party trick at Halloween.

ummmmm ewwwwww

I'm only allergic to mineral oil, huge hives outbreaks. It's not that bad unless someone uses my phone without letting me know and I take a call, getting some of their makeup residue on my skin. I can tell almost instantly, burning and welts. Fun times!

Sexy times with new people has to be clearly communicated, they can't put on lotion with mineral oil or my throat could close. End of sexy times.

If it's allergies, take Benadryl. Works for me every time.

People with migraines are pretty classically immune to lots of medication.

When I finally got Vicodin I lost all respect for House. Did nothing that ibuprofen didn't do.

We have special brains!

We're so lucky!

Benadryl just helps make me sleepy. I don't have allergies so it doesn't do anything else.

That would explain the embroidered sign next to your bed

¡ KY Si!
¡ Vaseline No!

Right under the neon sign that says "You have to be this tall to ride".

I've been meaning to ask you, what's with all the blinking, "racing" lights? your bedroom looks like an old Kentucky Fried Chicken store! It's very distracting (although I suspect it keeps your epileptic visitors to a minimum).

With the decrease in the bee population, the flora has increased their pollen, which is causing many more to suffer from allergies this summer. I can't imagine what ragweed is going to be like at the end of September!!

Red, red wine, three glasses and you be fine, or at least forget about your allergies, but don't drive afterwards.

Found it!

I never had an allergy to anything before I moved to Tassie.
Then, like clockwork every late winter/early spring the sneezing would start.
After a few years, I decided to go get tested.
Turns out I am allergic to daffodils.
And in Tassie the Damn things grow wild everywhere! They come up in the house garden every year, but I cut the heads off.

Every other place I have lived has been too hot for daffodils, so I never had a problem before.
