Mince pies are YUCK (and traditionally english) but do you mean 'black pudding?'
Its made from oats, fat and animal blood? Its about 2cm thick and small round shapes. As you look at it its black with big globs of white fat shining through it.
It sounds awful but tastes ok, I don't eat it because of what its made of, not how it tastes.

Have you ever tried Haggis??
Its wonderful, amazing and filling.
But I may have said that before lol

Am pretty sure black pudding and blood pudding are the same thing, like bronn said. I did not like haggis a lot either, but it was better than the blood pudding! But I do not want to turn ADR's lovely thread into British things we do not like. So here are some more things I do like....

Playing cricket, Thornton's Chocolate, malteaser's and my Love's voice leaving pervy (and generally unrepeatable) yet mushy messages on my voice mail!

Ms. Shy, I believe she meant blood pudding, cause I have inside information. But you're right, it's the same thing as black pudding. I made it once for a diversity day breakfast and she took about two bites and decided she didn't like it. We always called it Blood Pudding at home (County Mayo) but in Dublin I heard it called Black Pudding too.

And I love the cadbury Walnut Whip too. I like a lot of the crazy Barr beverages as well like Iru-Bru, Red Cola, and Clear Cream Soda.

I think your right lord bob, in 1800's i think it used to be a silver sixpence which meant luck/wealth. I have a vague idea that generally it was 'fixed' and the youngest child got the six pence.

LOL, we used to do that with the Christmas pudding, though had to wrap the coin in aluminiium foil to prevent bad things happening to the metal of the coin and our stomachs. From memory, when we were very small, my mother would put more than one coin in it to make sure everyone got a chance.

Yes and in that episode of Poirot, everyone had a turn stirring the pudding. And everyone found some kind of "treasure" in their pudding. It's a neat tradition.

We know that the DVDs are available because we've got them & have watched them over & over. Even when you know what happens you always find something that you've missed in it before.

The very first episode has a very strong B&D theme & they don't shy away from it either. You'll love it.

Have you seen the Second Sight movies? Those are also good- and in the same vein as Prime Suspect, etc.. You can find them at Borders, Barnes and Noble. Also, classic Brit comedy Are You Being Served and Jeeves and Wooster(with the luscious Hugh Laurie).
