In anycase; uncooked blood is a huge danger, "metal cravings" or no. Perhaps *slightly* less so with rigid testing and fluid bonding practices, though unfortunately blood drinking is labeled "dangerous and abusive." As frowned upon by doctors and authorities as any part of BDSM.

I am secretly thrilled beyond belief the glitter thread provides useful information. I tend to be all about the germs. I feel like by digging in the dirt (so to speak) my immunity system is a fortress.

Was a peculiarity I just lived with for a decade, before I discovered it went away (along with my light sensitivity) if I stopped eating things that gave me migraines.

So i can jokingly say that gelatin turns me into a vampire. An irate sun-hating monster, in a perpetual fog of pain and memories of trauma that never happened.

I crave steak when my iron is low too. Not raw though. Rare. Usually I eat it medium.
When I was pregnant with my twins I ate steak once or twice a day for 5 months.

The couple of times I actually tasted blood while also having blood cravings was... practically spiritual. Also; super arousing. (bit through my cheek one time, mangled my tongue the other. The same reactions that cause the migraines also causes my tongue to swell a bit.)

Dispels any confusion I might have had concerning the odd romanticism of vampires in pop culture.

What is it about people having a "sparkle in their eyes"?

According to various literature it either indicates some sort of desire for coitus, mischievous intent, a grand intelligence or possession by a demon I guess, what with eyes being the windows to the soul and all that.

I say that if somebody's got a sparkle in their eye then they've been poked in the eye by some dumb goblin-esque infant whose been messing with glitter and glue and they probably need to go get saline eyedrops from their nearest eye technician before they start seeing the onset of bacterial conjunctivitis...
