it wants disruption, a weakening of links between Israel and America and to see Israel in a worse position to defend itself against other forces involved.
hamas is not a political body to be trusted and the world would be better off if it were eradicated.
that doesn't mean the Palestinians aren't facing the crisis they are, and netanyahu isn't helping the situation.

I loathe Hamas and seek its destruction. But it is not out for itself. It is a neo-Wahhabi body that exploits Muslim faith and dedication. In the minds of Hamas militants they are serving Allah.
Bibi set himself up for this. Encouraging the settler trash to harass Muslim worshippers at the Haram-i-Sherif was extremely stupid. It didn't help that CIA didn't give Mossad adequate warning about this. CIA doesn't trust Mossad.
Mossad is now deeply divided, as is Israel and American Jewry.
On the global scale Hamas serves Putin.

If identifying with the Deep State is a way of satirizing the idiocy of the Trumpists I heartily approve.
The Deep State trope originated in Italy during the "years of lead" in the 1970s. The aim was to establish as a political touchstone the fictional idea that Intel services control all public acts. The Deep State was alleged to have directed both the repression that led to the rise of the Brigate Rosse (Red Brigades) and the Brigades.
The landscape of European political extremism in the 1970s facilitated this disinformation effort. The Red Brigades were controlled by the Czechoslovak secret police, and the false story about an Italian Deep State was a mirroring of this.
We don't call Intel the House of Mirrors for nothing.
The Italian security services in reality played no major role in the Years of Lead. They were responsible for a couple of atrocious acts but the real war pitted the ordinary police bodies against factory militants. The Italian far left was much too large and diverse to be controlled by any single entity.
The Deep State trope then jumped to Turkey and Egypt. Was there a secular political establishment in both countries that opposed the Muslim Brotherhood? Yes. In Turkey it failed to unseat Erdogan; in Egypt it removed Morsi.
The trope is used by Russia and its pawns to discredit its most consequential enemies.
The Deep State, from a classically liberal perspective, consists of the People from who authority is derived. Real Americans: people of color, LGBTQ, sex rebels, liberals, socialists, Democrats, never-Trumper Republicans, Zionists, neoconservatives, women with uteruses, transwomen (women without uteruses), are the country. The rest belong in Antarctica.
Obese, baconbrained bigots swilling watered beer while preparing to rewatch DIE HARD for the millionth time aren't Storm Troops. Some may be Dorm Troops. But they will be swept aside. The grandkids of Proud Boys will be taught that it was a gay group.
