Okay, this has got to be the ultimate pinnacle of American gluttony. The only thing that could make this worse is if you could deep fat fry a giant lump of buttery sugar.

Please take note of the apparent state of health of everyone in this video! This video could be the poster child for following a vegetarian diet.

I am officially appalled.

I love red meat as much as the next gal from the Lone Star State.

However, that's disgusting. EWWWW!!!

Steak looked tasty though...

Reminds me of people eating deep fried twinkies, that's just wrong.

as a cook, i was officially horrified when they squished the hamburger down on the grill. BAD BAD BAD!!!

i'm also amused by the fact that pretty much everyone in the video looked to be 220+ lbs

Hey watch it there missy :p

It looked to me like they were cooking the hamburgers with a weight on them. They were just too thick to cook evenly with out one.

But I think I gained 10lbs just watching that! OMG bacon is fatty enough but breaded and deep fried?

As bad as it is, it's probably no worse than a McDonalds supersized meal. Or any other of the crap the fast food killers serve up. I was thinking earlier about having lunch at Long Johns. The low cal salmon dinner which has about 500 calories. Not exactly low cal. I went to the web site to see how many calories the average person I see eating there is taking in with the fried fish, french fries, cold slaw, hush puppies and a coke. Topped out at around 1500 calories and over 70 grams of fat.

Okay, as a Texas girl, I gotta say just about anything is better with cream gravy... and now I'm craving good chicken fried steak, because I haven't had *good* chicken friend steak in at least 5 years. :(

Doing that to bacon is just... wrong. Chicken Fried Steak is Chicken Fried Steak- if you want a side dish make good mashed potatoes with skin on, or maybe fried corn on the cob (yellow squash casserole if you want to pretend to be healthy), but bacon? Bacon? *shakes head*

I just thought of a movie title! Haahahahah.... seperate thread material!

Good grief. I'm really not sure which is worse..the chicken fried bacon or the narrator's awful Charles Kuralt impersonation.

Okay..it's the bacon.

I'm with Cutie..I am now craving chicken fried steak. Specifically Ann's Chicken Fry in OKC. :p

I don't know what y'all are complaining about...

Snook, Texas is in the middle of the triangle formed by Houston, San Antonio and Dallas... I could be there in about 20 hours...
*wonders how he could afford the trip*

Yow.

Yuk.

I haven't even had Chiucken Fried steak, and I'm not planning to.

I didn't even know there was such a thing as a two pound steak. Around here we measure our steak in ounces. I usually get 8oz.

I don't eat meat.

I rarely go to u tube or run with the sound on.

Gluttony is a real icky thing for me regardless.

Fury :rose:

On vacation a few years ago, I stopped outside of Knoxville, TN at the country kitchen for dinner. I saw everything on the menu was covered in gravy or deep fried. I ordered the "fresh" vegetable plate not in the mood for grease. I thought I would get country vegetables which may contain some meat drippings, but better then fast food.

No, I got a large piled high plate of every vegetable deep fried. Broccoli, cauliflower, okra, squash, tomatoes, green beans...every one. My friend and I laughed so hard we cried. Needless to say, my picture of us posing with the "fresh" vegetable plate is one of my favorites from the trip.

God love Southern America's ability to fry anything beyond taste recognition.

*shrugs* other than it's a heart attack on a plate, i'm not sure what's so 'gross' about it. it would be a little too much grease, batter, whatever for me, but it doesn't sound terrible, well, except terrible for your heart and weight and such...

I'm well familiar with that sort of thing. I rarely like it. I tend to prefer veggies raw. I won't say I don't fry food at times. I rarely batter it though. When I do it's with good Italian bread crumbs. :D

I'm by no means tiny, but I can't STAND greasy foods, including most fast food. The fact that anyone can choke this stuff down is beyond me. I cook as a hobby, and I'm always looking for new recipes, but this is one I think I'll keep far away from me.

soft laughter... okay.. that makes me want to go on a diet just watching it!!

Gawd... am I the only bacon eating person here honest enough to say I'd actually try it? Yeah, I know it would be awful for me, but still, that has to be awesome!

Maybe it's because I have an "adventureous palate" but I'll try almost anything once. *LOL* I didn't spend two million years clawing my way to the top of the food chain to just eat what food eats...

You aren't alone--I'm game for a piece. It comes as no surprise to everyone that I'm all about the meat. *grin* There are enough atrocious things done to food in the name of haute cuisine that I can redneck it every so often with little remorse.

Lol, after some of the food I'm living on in college right now, that actually is a step up so, I'd eat it.
