SURVIVOR SOUTHERN STYLE

Due to the popularity of the Survivor shows, several southern TV
stations are joining together and are planning to do their own,
entitled "Survivor: Southern Style."

The contestants will start in Alabama, travel over to Georgia and
On to South Carolina. From there they will head up to North
Carolina and over to Tennessee. They will then proceed down to
Mississippi and Louisiana. Finally ending up back over in Alabama.

Each will be driving a pink Volvo with New Jersey license plates
and large bumper stickers that read: I'm Gay, I'm a Vegetarian,
NASCAR SUCKS, Go Yankees! Smoking Is for Idiots, Hillary in 2004,
Deer Hunting is Murder, and I'm Here to Confiscate Your Guns!

The first one that makes it back to Alabama alive, wins!

He might have if he hadn't swapped paint about lap 15 and lost four positions - he was in 10th then

And poor Jr  I bet he was cussing and fussing the whole time...and the whole way home.

*nods* They're young and take more chances than the veterans...but that's the way of it, the new ones come along and start dominating. Lots of great ones on the track today. Can't wait till May when they race here in Charlotte again :nana:

I haven't decided yet. I used to camp out in the infield, before my daughter was born, with a bunch of friends...then a few years ago I worked for a company where I got VIP booth tickets...never been in the stands before, but I bet it's a riot. I just hate the traffic getting there and back

Off to Atlanta, Going to be some FAST racing there.

So how does everyone feel about NEXTEL and the new point system??

I am not sure I like it. I think it is wrong to take a point lead away from someone who has struggled and battled for 26 races to build it!! Guess we wont really know if it was a good idea until the season is over, so until then, I will just keep enjoying the races.

I am in a "wait and see" attitude about the new points system.
If that's the way the dudes in charge want it...we ain't got much say....yet....

I couldn't see much of the race because my antenna, (oh for the love of God, my cable TV is gone) wasn't picking up the signal well at all. I could sort of see the race but the sound was just static. Weird not hearing the engines... but the closed captioning was working just fine....

We will just have to let this race year unfold before us in order to fully understand the implications of the whole new points system.

HEY

A NASCAR thread!!! WOOOO

First off, I like DJ...BUT...I'm a hardcore, card carying fan club member of Kevin Harvick. I was so bummed out when he ran dry with 3 to go yesterday. We just needed another caution, I was hoping rubberhead would tag the wall but it wasn't meant to be.

So, who's been to which tracks and which was your fav? I've been to 'Dega, Atlanta, Charolotte...Charolotte was the coolest being at night. In the near term I'm headed back to 'Dega and later on this year to Louden :)

I say give it a chance. Will make the last 10 races a dog fight for those in contention. I'll reserve judgement until November.

"the Intimidator"

You loved him or you hated him, there was no in between. Such was his outlook on life, black or white, right or wrong...nothing grey about it. He took time to mentor younger drivers. He was the devoted Husband and Father, of all his children. Avid outdoorsman and conservationist. Savvy businessman, self-taught in that field, despite never graduating high school. Dale was all these and more.

To say that I miss him, both on and off the track, would be an understatement of huge proportions.

Now I root for Jr. and Kevin. I was happy for Matt last year, being a WI boy who made the grade (thanks to Mark Martin).

But I don't sacrafice doing something else to watch the race week in and week out like I used too...it's just not the same without the #3 out there.

Thanks Mo...great thread. ^5's
