From the Police Blotter:

"On Sunday, September 13 at 1:19 in the afternoon a caller let police in Dutch Harbor know that two guys were throwing things at runners passing by. The officers who responded found that there was a local “color run” going on, wherein runners are pelted with colored powder as they jog. The complainant called again after officers had left to complain that they hadn’t stopped the two men from throwing stuff at runners. The dispatcher informed the caller that it was a preplanned event and nothing was out of order, to which the caller told the dispatcher the activity was “stupid.” We can’t really argue with that."
 
I remember when that volcano was threatening to pop off and you posted pics and forecasts every day.
That was riveting stuff.

Yeah, It dumped ash on my Toyota. I sat in the Moosestooth eating pizza and drinking IPA while the ash cloud blew over.

I have a trip to the Bay Area for meetings. It would be uncivilized to not spend at least one day on wine country safari.

When I was a poor student at Berkeley back in the dark ages before there were tasting fees, we used to pick up a couple loaves of hot sourdough bread on a Saturday morning and drive as far into wine country as we figured we could drink our way back. Hence, "wine country safari."

We might not go up into Napa now, but there's plenty of other places to have some fun.
 
Oh I'm jealous. That is one of my fav places to go. I love wine country. Love all of California, really, but I have a great fondness for Northern California.

Have fun and join a few clubs if they ship to Alaska. You get great deals that way.
