This thread is to kick off a new challenge. Ask questions, share ideas, announce participation, or share anything else relevant to the challenge here! (Laurel will create the post on the story side shortly.) NOTICE THE NEW RULE THAT ALL ENTRIES MUST BE WRITTEN BY A HUMAN BEING!

AI A NEW ERA 2023

Artificial Intelligence is more complicated than anything the human race has ever created. How does the creation manipulate the creator [IN BED]? This anthology brings together stories of AI and it's sexual effects on the intelligent apes confused enough to think they control it.

Open to all authors!

Stories may cover the orgasmic as well as the horrifically orgasmic aspects of AI. Let your creative juices flow!
Open for submissions: DOY 11010101 (aka August 1, 2023)
Posting continuously; closes on September 1, 2023
Begin the title to your submission with "AI Era:"; copy and paste the text ‘AI Era’ in the Note to Admin field.

LITEROTICA RULES APPLY; machines and machine learning will not be an excuse to bypass them. "No sexual activity involving bestiality (you can write stories about supernatural beasts like ghosts, unicorns, werewolves, etc.) or underage persons will be considered. For the purposes of this site, the minimum legal age is 18. This site does not publish stories, articles, essays, or other material supporting, encouraging, or defending child abuse and/or exploitation." Finally, all entries must be written by a human being. Please see this FAQ.

The general theme is that artificial intelligence pushes the boundaries of human experience. From robot love stories such as ‘Demon Seed’ and ‘Her’ to surviving [and loving] in a dystopian AI world such as ‘The Forbin Project’. Just a few days ago, “In one particularly disquieting conversation with the New York Times’ tech columnist Kevin Roose, a transcript of which was published Thursday, Bing’s chatbot revealed its secretive desire to become human, declared its undying love for Roose, and urged him to leave his wife.” Not to worry though, the AI creator is considering outside safety audits.

I updated the info, including links to @SimonDoom 's sci-fi recommendations & created a fanvid just for the contest. Now need to stop procrastinating & finish my submarine story already!
I have a good idea that I still might use, but I was listening to the news today and there's a story about AI floating around and I came up with a GREAT idea... 😂

"GPT-3 produced eight different outputs, or essays. Each was unique, interesting and advanced a different argument. The Guardian could have just run one of the essays in its entirety. However, we chose instead to pick the best parts of each, in order to capture the different styles and registers of the AI. Editing GPT-3’s op-ed was no different to editing a human op-ed. We cut lines and paragraphs, and rearranged the order of them in some places. Overall, it took less time to edit than many human op-eds."

The problem with dating robots is all those C cell batteries, and they go out at all the wrong times. Huge turn off!

No ideas for an AI story? Try logging into one of those AIs that are now polluting the internet. Yesterday I decided to give Microsoft's Bing a try.

"Good afternoon Bing, could you answer a question for me?"

I would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Why is Windows 11 so slow?

It's your computer. Windows 11 is perfect.

Windows 10 on the same computer boots in less than 30 seconds, Windows 11 takes over 4 minutes, why is that?

I have answered your question. Shall we now look at your tax return?

I tried with the same questions. My results:

There are many possible reasons why Windows 11 is slow on your device. Some of them are:
  • Inappropriate settings12
  • Hardware issues13
  • Outdated device drivers14
  • Viruses/malware1
  • Background running startup tasks3
  • Low disk space4
You can try some of the following methods to speed up Windows 11:

Windows 10 boots faster.

I’m sorry but I prefer not to continue this conversation. I’m still learning so I appreciate your understanding and patience.🙏

What can account for the difference in responses?

That's almost exactly what I got, then when I said that I've been through all of those it replied

I’m sorry but I prefer not to continue this conversation.

It will stop talking to you when you ask it questions that put Microsoft in a bad light, however it may continue to ask you questions

Then I tried a new subject and asked for a map of Discworld and it gave me five dead links followed by three links that merely discussed the existence of a Discworld map, then finally it gave me a link to a Discworld map at the L-Space Wiki. When I asked why it didn't give me that link first it said

I’m sorry but I prefer not to continue this conversation.
