How about a vote for shiniest face? Speaking of which, WTF is going on with Nicole Kidman's face? She used to be pretty but with her shiny new face she looks pretty fucked up.

I haven't seen any of them yet. I missed 'Whale Rider' and, of the other four movies, the only one that has already opened over here is 'In America'. Might check it out later this week.

I voted for Theron.. she does a miraculous job of transforming herself for the role. Not through her looks, but rather through her movements, twitches, speech and presence.

A fabulous performance.

I own Whale Rider and while I thought it was a delightful film, I don't think it's a Best Actress part.

Watts put together an incredible performance but I don't think it's up to par with Theron.

That's a good point.

And yes, based on hotness, my heart would balance between Charlize and Naomi. And I'd be crying out why the hell isn't Scarlett Johansson nominated?

Scarlett Johansson not being nominated is a major overlook. In both the Actress and Supporting Actress category.

The production company couldn't decide what movie to promote her in nor could they decide what category to do it in. I suspect her votes were split 4 ways. Between the two categories and between her roles in Pearl Earring and Lost in Translation.
