From the General Purpose Story Thread:

The challenge is to complete 30 stories in 30 days starting on 1 August.

The only person who will know how much work you have done for this challenge is yourself, so there is no point in cheating. However the object is to have 30 postable stories, so they should be submitted to Literotica.

Volunteers please sign in to this thread and then start writing. If you want a daily theme I'll try to provide one, but using the theme is optional.

Best of luck, and a plea to The Muses to be cooperative,

Og

Daily Themes

Wednesday 1 August: Sand in the hair - a beach encounter.
Thursday 2 August: Damsel in distress - rescued from an awkward situation
Friday 3 August: He's on the rebound - should she play it cool?
Saturday 4 August: Saturday night on the town leads on to breakfast together.
Sunday 5 August: Is it worth going to Church/Synagogue/Mosque just to meet someone?
Monday 6 August: Back to work - should I mix sex and work?
Tuesday 7 August: Transport leads to a meeting.

That's it for week 1.

These themes are entirely optional and just suggestions to encourage you to write.

Og

I have a smut peice that's been lurking, I may try and write it for this...

Make it 30 stories in 30 years and I could keep up.

*nods* My short stories take at least a year to "perfect."

I guess 30 in 30 will help boost the Survivor-philes though.

I know I probably won't make it to the finish line, but I'll do my best. Is there a bottom word limit for stories to post on Lit? Seems like I heard something about a minimum.

ETA: Never mind. Just saw post from Cloudy in another thread, 750. Thanks.

Thank you for starting the thread, Ogg.
I'm in. Thank God for my new 3rd shift job where I can watch movies or write on my laptop all night long.

Dear merciful heavens!

30 in 30 days? I doubt I could do that even with coffee, a muse and the infinite monkeys on infinite typewriters.

Best of luck to you poor souls about to embark. I'll see you in September with cookies and beer.

(biscuits and ale for you brits)

Get serious Oggy. I'm stuck on Chapter 4 of long piece. Just finishing that by the end of August will be a challenge.

Neat idea. Ain't no way in hell I can get that done. Good luck to everyone who is participating though. :rose:

If I wasn't in the early stages of the year of hell (Credential + Student teaching) I still probably wouldn't be able to do this. :p

Luckily, I have no job. My plan is to think of a story to write the day before, make a few notes as the day progresses then bang it out the next day and submit. I already have a story planned for tomorrow to write. My only problem will be editing. No editing, there's gonna be some stupid little mistakes left in, I'm telling you now.

I'm still busy laughing my arse off at the very idea!
30 in 30 months, maybe. Not a hope in hell for 30 in 30 days. The first day has almost passed for me, and I haven't written a word!

I hope you're all writing...?

Arrrgh!

I love the idea, Og - it's just a bad time for parents with kids getting ready for school and teachers getting ready to teach!

It is a great way to push some writing, though. Maybe I can accomplish something this month.

:rose:

First one done and being sent off to my volunteer reader. I'm gonna drive him crazy by the end of the month. It turned into a six page romance in no time.

1/ 30

First one done and submitted. Mine also turned into a 6-page romance.

Jesus H. Christ...

I haven't done a story in nearly two years. And the moment I decide to pitch in on this 30-day thing (which I'll probably fail to keep up), I sit down and plan on a quick 750 word thingy... and end up with 5k and a story.

Sometimes this shit just kinda backs up on you, huh>?

I did it! The first one!

It isn't long - not quite 1000 words, but it is submittable. And it's a start.

Yay me!

Let's see if I can keep this up.

:rose:

We have lift-off!

But Og is still on the launching ramp.

Meetings here; meetings there; and daughters borrowing my systems because they don't have internet access at present...

Maybe tomorrow? The ideas keep coming. The computer time doesn't.

Og
