As one surfs about, or actively researches a topic, one occasionally unearths a site that is too good to hog all to oneself. I thought we might start a thread to post the treasures we have come across on the internet, which we would like to share with other Literocitians.

Two to start:

On target for this forum is the Animated Kama Sutra for entertainment, information and inspiration. :nana:

Off target, but if you are interested in fast cars, racing (real racing, not the turn left 2000 times as quickly as you can, variety) and art, might enjoy the images in the Racing Art gallery. :catroar:

Anyone else?

Bump (& Grind)

Very cool stuff, VB. I loved the racing link. (Going to check out the other now.)

I want to see shereads' link to EXTREME IRONING in here.

My all-time favorite

I've probably posted this before, but it is just so priceless. The descriptions of each piece, the stories behind their acquisition, and the utter badness of the artworks themselves - it's breathtaking.

Art too bad to be ignored

You too, Huck? I've been a fan of bad art and music for years.

Here's a link resource: http://members.tripod.com/~brianpink/artlinks.html

I also like this one. It's a link to "Found Magazine", a magazine devoted to things just found here and there: strange photographs, puzzling notes, mysterious objects.

Both sites are cool. But I think I am going to be spending some time DLing artwork. I was disappointed that there were no prints of Gilles Villenueve, I know there are some spectacular prints out there of him. Quite fitting considering the way he drove.

There was one theat caught my eye though.

This was from the San Marino Grand Prix in Imola, Italy in 1983. I was at that race. Patrick Tambay and Ricardo Patrase fought for the lead for half the race until Patrase stuffed it into the tire barrier trying to out break Villenueve into Parabolica curve. There were a lot of happy Ferrari fans that day.

Myself included.

I will leave She to supply the EI link, but since we are edging up on Tax Season this may be a good time to introduce everyone to:

The 1st Airborne Insolvency Division's website, Extreme Accounting.

Thank you, Dr. M!
I'm already weeping with laughter at the Ohio Bad Art Guild. Some outstanding works! Still Life With Snoutless Dog and Lavender Behind caught my eye immediately, but I'm also drawn to the enigma of Dragon Lady Adrift. Alas, she shall ever remain a mystery. :(

The, err, best bad art has such an earnest quality. A clear artistic vision obscured both by lack of talent and banality - yet, it was an honest effort.

It's a numerology thing, combined with the fact that the symbols shift every time. No matter which two numbers you pick - you'll end up with the same symbol.

The Earl

Damn, Earl. You're no fun.

Right

numbers between 10 and 19: u'll always get 9
numbers between 20 and 29: u'll always get 18
numbers between 30 and 39: u'll always get 27
numbers between 40 and 49: u'll always get 36
numbers between 50 and 59: u'll always get 45
numbers between 60 and 69: u'll always get 54
numbers between 70 and 79: u'll always get 63
numbers between 80 and 89: u'll always get 72
numbers between 90 and 99: u'll always get 81

notice that how these numbers all map to the same symbol.

But my first pick was 72 and 5. (67)

Like the rule I learned in the Carny: “Never go with a zero.

Besides, if it's 59 cents, it gives you greater scope to short-change them.
