So I was reading a story and accidentally closed it 
it was a non human story, boy and older girl, parents both got killed in an accident at the same time, boy is apparently not human, parents set up trust fund for both kids, boy lives with the girl, girl is some kind of detective and her friend Gabriel(?) was just taken by a serial killer.
