Abuse: is there such a thing in the 'lifestyle'?

Like you, I liked her posts and I miss Cym.

Are we the only 2 who see backpeddling for what it is, sinn? Apparently so... ;-)
i'm certain others see it.
Everyone has an agenda though.
Opinions are like assholes though. Everyone has one and no two are the same.

On that point, i don't expect everyone to agree or take my side .. or any side for that matter.

i can't speak for anyone else.

i see it though. i'm glad you stepped forward to say you see it too... i'd hate to think i was hallucinating....... i don't even do drugs  .

Maybe that's my problem. i need to stop 'saying No'...... heh :p

Some people 'are in your face' snarky (what a goofy word) and some people are coy and demurely snarky.

But snarky is snarky, don't be confused and don't try to mislead others.
snarky: adj. [snark' ee] one of those words that the newbier than though types hear some of the less newbish people tossing around .....
then they use it in an attempt to show ownership aka that they are in the loop.

Similar to the word: asshat

:p

If she's gonna call me names though, i wish she'd show some creativity.... especially because humiliation, when applied correctly, and by the right Person, really makes me wet.

first of all, i'm not a newbie...second of all Asshat was NOT made up on this board. one of my best friends has said that word for years, snarky again was not made up on this board, so i'm not sure what your post was all about other than to, again, show your immaturity. you really acting very very childish. i'm not calling you names, you were the one doing that. what is your point? do you enjoy making yourself look like an idiot? and no, before you go saying i called you an idiot, i didn't, i said you are making yourself look like that. apparently you cannot have an adult conversation and you seem to think that words that have been around for a long time were 'made up' by the posters on this board. i was using b oth of those words before i even HEARD of the lit site...sheesh..grow up.

LMAO... thank you for that claification. I need a new dictionary because honestly, until that post, snarky has never been part of my vocabulary. LOL I have now used that word 6 times. It is my plan to not ever use it again in the future. Too trendy, too internet-lingo-ish, too trashy, too too,... yanno?

Snotty or bitchy works for me in almost all circumstances. LOL ;-)

But snarky does not constitute abuse in a relationship.

OMG... 7 times!!!!!!!! Stop me... please...

How'd we get from castlerealm to trying to strangle one another?

I said that site wasn't so good... :D ;)

Good god, Phoenix. Please refrain from insulting my intelligence.

No one ever "has to" crop a woman's ass.

You construct a dynamic in which you are the authority figure and corporal punishment is acceptable and you expect me to believe that you don't get some measure of satisfaction or personal fulfillment from the entire experience? C'mon, man.

As for the distinction you make between domineering asshammer and Dominant, again I say: It's a spectrum.

Show me a guy who claims to be always in perfect control of himself and I'll show you a liar.

Self-control leads to success as a Dominant, because without this your partner will leave in disgust or be damaged beyond repair or call the cops. But self-control is not the defining factor of Dominance itself.

No insult to your intilligence intended....

I LOVE the power dynamics of the relationship. There are times in the dynamic of that relationship where I have to apply punishment and discipline. I do not like the act pf punishing, because it means that she has done something that displeased Me.

Did I ever claim to be in perfect control? No. I do My best to maintain that control,l but I am a human not a robot.

I log in to an adult oriented forum populated by adults and see a thread that has descended into a cesspool of juvenile schoolyard insults. Oh well, there are times when people have something insightful to say and to add to a discussion, and then there are times when people seem to want to relive their years in school patting each other on the back after issuing nothing more than petty backhanded insults over some invisible perceived slight.

However one finds their pleasure, as this is the Internet and a message board no more and no less. Always remember that in this medium it is only our words that show who we are.

I bolded a part of your post to make my point..you and I are on the same page on this, just different paragraphs. My point was many of the essays there do contain strong elements of "this is the only way". I'm not saying their relationship was unrealistic...obviously it wasn't.

I agree with the slant of most of the essays, and any which comes from others are more of the same view. I always like references in any form to give a range of dieas and styles as opposed to supporting each other in their rightness without facing the challenge of debating a contrasting view realistically. What always puzzles me about Castlerealm though is whether this was an actual RL relationship, or wholly or mostly online. There are many references to things they did online, people they met while online and only a couple which refer to anything resembling real, and then when I consider the aount of people who talk of 'kneeling at his feet' and meaning only in cyberspace, not actually face to face, I wonder if this is why it is so sugary and idealised.

Another reason why I ponder it is admittedly based on another fairly well quoted couple long ago whom I emailed once, and who wrote in a similar style about their relationship, advising others how to live D/s TPE in the real world, only to find out when they replied that they had never met and were online only, and actually that was the basis for all their 'experience', even their advice on SM. Sort of made me question everything I read online no matter how real it sounds....give me more than a couple of pics of the people involved and I am partially open to believing they are real and operating on real face to face experience.

 Most here are intelligent enough to either know the definition of snarky already, or figure it out themselves, thanks.

 rose has issued her share of petty comments and isn't exactly the last of the innocents left in the cesspool.
If her behavior here on this thread holds merit, she doesn't not need you or anyone else popping in here to handle her little battles.

As far as cheap underhanded shots of ill masked sarchasm go,.. i see that the apple doesn't fall far so i won't bother with artificial formalities. When i decide that you need to be told that you are showing your ass, i'll tell you to your face in plain English.... & yeah, you, are overexposed at the moment.

Alright civilians, what's going on here?

I want someone to explain it to me quick or we're all going down to the station.

pretty simple really, i made a comment, asked a question on why someone had to be so negative. it got taken wayyy out of context, the insults, name calling and all that school yard crap got started, and here we are....if we go to the station, do i get to wear handcuffs?? ;) :p

ok you know what, i'm pretty sick of the bickering, arguing, whatever you want to call it, so i'm going to say, i am not perfect, nope, not even close to innocent, BUT my words in that post that started all of this were NOT meant to offend, they had no hidden meaning behind them, they were what they were, and that's it. so, with that said, so that this thread can get back on track and i really really really do not like having people upset with me, nor do i like being upset, before i go to bed, i'm going to apologize for MY part in this whole thing and say that i DID get carried away with my sarcastic comments while defending myself. i am truly sorry for any offense that my words caused, they were not intended that way, and i'm telling the gods honest truth here, so, can we please move on?

I spent yesterday doing family stuff, so I'm catching up.

Castlerealm is a great place to start learning, but I think too many people stop there. Obviously this doesn't apply to anyone on Lit - we have all come here to learn from each other, which is the best way to do it because you don't end up with that "one perspective only" problem. (Submissive Women Speak is another good articles site that has the same "one perspective only" issue. If it's the only site you read, you're not learning enough.)

As for submission being a gift...does this mean I don't have to buy Xmas or birthday presents for Daddy ever again?! :D

And as for SnarkFest 2007...damn, I miss all the fun! (And yes, "snark" and "asshat" are Internet neologisms...but they did not originate at Lit.)

*smiles* i always love your posts Etoile and i agree with you, on all of it, except that, 'snarky' is NOT from the internet, it originated in or around 1916 from what i read, and it was not 'made up on the internet' it's in the dictionary, asshat, however is an 'internet' word, though there is a wiki about it, and i happen to love the word..hehe ;) and that's it for todays 'rose's useless facts' tune in tomorrow for more...or not, probably not. :p

I stand corrected, thank you! I learned something today. :)
There's an excellent writeup about its modern usage here: http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=383533

Save the "can we move on crap" or just DO IT already.

You'd already stated that you were done arguing in post #219. It took eight more of your snitty posts and a Mod popping in and inquiring about the issue for you to feel some need to resort to this half ass offer of a claim to responsability/recant all rolled into one contradictive post. i dislike dishonesty and fake shit.
As it's doubtful that you'll find yourself willing or capable of changing these charatoristics, it's not likely that i'll find reason to appreciate you or your words.

i'm honest to a fault, like that, and always have been. It keeps things simple for me, and especially for those who interact with me. i may seem more than a bit forward and to the point, and raw in how i interact with others on this forum and on others. i don't play into the drama, i'm a straight shooter and i keep it real. i say what i mean and i mean what i say. i've yet to cause myself reason to eat my own words (via recant or deletion of posts) or take them back. i'm not going to start now.

If you don't like it or me, what i stand for, how i express myself, or my beliefs etc ect ...... don't direct your comments at me, and/or as i already had suggested to you earlier on in this thread, you have the option of the ignore feature.

I feel abused.

And I want to abuse someone.

The cycle of violence, make it stop.
