A World Untamed...

Rocky fell down as the wagon was hurled forward. He never was one to be good at balance and things. Juggling was something he always wanted to learn, but he never could understand how to do it. Things fell up, and then fell down. Only, for Rocky things just fell down.
He looked back at the wall of fire, it was gone now, but smoke could still be seen slightly.
"Why are we going away from the fire?"
"We aren't going away from the fire, we are going away from the danger."
Rocky furrowed his brow, "How do you know it's dangerous, what if they are friends, who want to help."
Sabaka shook his head, "Anyone who would endanger the forest like that isn't a friend."
"The fire only lasted a few seconds though, it was obviously magic of some sort."
Sabaka looked at him distantly, "It was magic, but it's not the kind of magic we want. They are probably under attack."
Rocky's eyes grew wide, "Then we need to help them."
"No, we need to get out of here, away from the zombies."
"How do you know they aren't fighting the last of the zombies right now?"
"How do you know the zombies didn't do the fire magic themselves."
Rocky hated arguements like this, he was never good at them. In all his life he had only won one arguement with Sabaka, and it was what they were going to have for dinner one night.
"Can't we at least go and look," he pleaded.
"Look, those people back there might be just like the ones we met a while ago, remember. The ones with the chocobo. Only this time, they know magic. Do you want to die in a pillar of fire like that, or worse."
Rocky shut up again. He did want to help them, if they were friends, but he wasn't sure if they were friends or not. He looked back, wondering what to do. Sabaka did know best, ina ll his life, Rocky knew that one fact. He had to stay with hit bestest best friend.

Drusilla rushed to Lokken's side when he fell unconcious. She was surprised to see such power though she had sensed it within him. She knelt beside him gently wiping away some of the blood on his face. She frowned angry with the Zombies for in any way causing harm to these people. She stood up and unsheathed her sword. With one last glance at Lokken she joined the battle against the undead

OOC: sorry haven't been online lately or I would have written

One of the zombies Suddenly froze in it's tracks. Litterally, it was encased in a block of ice. 3 fist sized black balls of energy appeared from 3 directions, slaming in the same spot of the frosen zombie, causing the undead creature to shatter into millions of harmless pieces. A very large, (man sized) black bird flew into the clearing and landed among the living. "Wakarue! (did you miss me?)" A zombie stepped towared the large bird and attacked. blue energy causing his beak to glow coursed through the bird, and when he pecked the zombie, it froze like the other. CLosing his eyes and struggling (like he wat constipated) 3 balls of black energy burst out of the chocobo's back, flew around the bird in three different directions, and simultaneously slammed into the zombie, again shattering it like the other.
"What are you doing back?" asked Kitt
"Kweh (I was detained. besides, it looks like you could really use my help right now) Wakeru..."

OOC; you just wintessed the attacks Cryostasis and Choco-ball.

Brendan:

Brendan rushed the last zombie as it threw itself upon the chocobo, sinking its rotting teeth into the black overgrown bird. Ripping the foul thing from the other fowl thing, Brendan swung a ferocious swipe at the zombie's throat, ripping it asunder with his claws. The zombie's head lulled backward and fell free of its body, only the rest of it latched onto Brendan, digging and scratching at his thickly haired body, for what little good it would do the creature. Brendan hoisted the zombie up and tossed it toward Kitt. "Your damn good at that, care for another twig to burn?" Brendan said in his twisted, inhuman voice. Kitt all too happily toasted the fucker, ending the battle. Brendan turned only to find his sister in a huddled ball on the ground, gripping at her stomach. He rushed to her. "Sister!" He reverted to his human form in mid stride. "Oh God! Sister!" He fell to her side and turned her to face upward, looking her over for any sort of wound. She opened her eyes with a pained moan. "Sister! Did... Did one of the zombies get to you? What's wrong? What..." Then it hit him, she was bound to the woods like none other, the woods shared her pain as she shared its. Several tree's were scorched and as Brendan ripped open the shirt his sister wore, she too was burned badly along her stomach. He remembered a long time back when a woodsman had dared to chop at a tree in her forest and the bloody wound that had ripped across her stomach. He also remembered the fools salty blood on his lips... She had chastised him for that rash murder, and he had never acted so rash again, that was the day he had learned to control, or at the very least wanted to control the bestial side of himself. None others love but his sisters could come close to keeping him from going wild at the drop of a hat.

Brendan smoothed his fingers through Gaia's hair as she moaned from the pain. She would live, just as the woods would, but seeing her in pain like this, it brought him to struggle with his bestial rage. He stood and turned to see the wizard laying, propped up against a tree, his companion tending to him. Blood trailed from nearly every orifice of his head. Brendan stalked over to them, clenching and unclenching his fists. "In pain?" He growled lowly. As he knelt next to Druzzila and locked eyes with the bloody wizard. In answer, the man coughed up some blood. It looked as though whatever damage he had sustained from his magical endeavors would have been lethal if not for the fact that death was no longer free to take those who's lives had ended. "Let me explain something to you... You felt a tugging resistance to your blasted fire spell didn't you? Yes, well... That was my sisters work, she had cast that protection and sustained it ever since this forest chose her to be its protector. Now I ask you, why in God's name did you chose to ignore its resistance and continue with the spell when you must surely have known the back lash it would cause you?!" The man was suffering, Brendan could see this, but then, so was his sister.

ooc: *Sighs* Im getting rather tired of waiting on mistress here, im considering having him meet up with her later....

anythoughts people??

OOC: If they don't post in a week I would usually consider them to be out bud, but its your call. Move on without her is my suggestion...

Shadow

OOC: I pretty much agree with Ravenloft. It's up to you, Roland. But I'd suggest moving on for now and she can write herself back into the thread later.

IC: Turning from Gaia to Brendan and Lokken, I started to see the connection here. Now I was glad that I hadn't gone through with breaking off a tree branch to use it to crush the zombies beneath me earlier on. A broken limb from one of these trees could have lead to a broken limb on Gaia's body. Was going to need to be more careful around here in any future battles.

Letting Brendan have his 'talk' with Lokken, I told Kitt, "Great job with those zombies earlier. If it weren't for your help, we'd probably still be fighting with that last batch." Taking notice of Cryo, I had to admit to being somewhat glad to see the bird return. There was more strength in numbers with this group.

He stopped at the crossroads. What if it was just a mistake. What if someone only hurt the forest to protect others? No, it couldn't have been that. Everyone knows the tales around these forests, you cut down a tree, you start a big fire... and you were never heard of again. There was talk of demons or spirits haunting this place, he didn't believe in such things, but he did believe in letting things be.
Some things at least.
Still...
He couldn't decide where to go. Left, towards a nice city, big enough for them to get a good price on their wares. Right left the forest, eventually, and went to the lower desert. His mind also considered going back, he still did not know what was back there.
Someone with that kind of power, if he or she wasn't god, they would all be toast. Including Ferdy. The chocobo warked at him, as if to answer. Exactly right, he couldn't risk anyone's life going back there. Rockingham couldn't understand this, he just didn't know that his life was too valuable.
They were far enough away. The explosion was huge, but it was far off in the distance. He hated having magic against him, if they were evil, they probably already knew he and Rocky were here. Yet, if they were good, wouldn't they know the same thing?
He kept running around in circles in his mind. He wasn't quite sure what to do, he was a good enough warrior on his own, and even knew a few small spells, mostly priests ones, that dealt with protection, but he was pretty much worthless when it came to fighting anyone who knew about magic. Might as well just lay down on the ground and prepare for death right then and there. He always was one for dramatics.
If they were good, and they were in trouble, they would need help. He sighed again, around and around we go. the best thing to do was simply wait... that was it, he would wait until nightfall and come then.
If they were evil, they would be gone by then, if they were good, they would be gone as well, and if they were in trouble or dead he would be able to help them. It wasn't such a bad plan after all.
Sabaka went to tell Rockingham.

YEAH!!!!
They would go back. This was great, those poor people were probably hurt something awful by now. It was no worry though, now that Sabaka and him were going back, with the help of Ferdy and Sara, they would be able to take anything on. He grabbed his short sword and made a face... gggrrrrr. He pretended to battle Ferdy, who would nip and peck the sword if it got too close. It was acually good practice, he tried to touch the bird's feathers without her pecking it. After a while, he got pretty good, but then the bird was bored with the entire thing, and laid down to take a nap. Rocky couldn't wait for nightfall.
He took his satchel and packed everything necessary for war. His dolls, Sara's brush. He even packed some jerky for afterwards, nothing tastes better then jerky after you've beaten up all the jerks. He packed everything up and was ready. Sabaka just looked at him solemnly as he settled in for a nap at the top of the wagon.
"Watch out for anybody... and please pay attention this time. We can't be taken off guard."
Rockingham gave a perfect salute, and began marching through camp, keeping his eyes open for anything. The long blades of grass began to blow at the slightest touch of a breeze. Rocky quickly cut the tips of the grass off, and began looking for other dangers in the area.

I"m sorry..I cant keep up..I"m not into it......
Forgive me...

ooc; *Sighs* And another one bites the dust...

Give me a little bit to figure ANYTHING out and I'll post tonight sometime...

Robert Sith:

Jerking his head up, Robert felt the distruction of a hand full of the zombies he had created. "How very irritating..." He hissed. He stood, went to his spell book, in search of the astral projection spell he had tortured out of a foolishly pathetic mageling many years back. "Ah, here it is... Good."

Within five minutes he had it memorized and prepared to cast it. In another five he had projected himself to where his few zombies had been incinerated. There, standing around, were five human's and an overgrown bird, and the scattered remains of his slaughtered zombies.

Robert took his natural form, save for his face being blot out and blured. He began to move among them, kicking at the severed head of one of his zombie's, pointless as he really wasn't there save for, perhaps his sences. "So... I have a group of champions set against me, do I? How... Quaint..." Robert hissed loud and clear for them all to hear and finally take notice of him standing among them.

He noted the dragon with mild surprize, then felt the magical poison in her blood, it was his poison after all, it was tied to him just as the zombies had been. He smiled knowingly at her. She could, perhaps give him leverage over these pathetic hero's.

"Draoconian..." He spoke in a tongue known only to her kind with a small nod.

Kitt

Kitt laughed a little at Shadow.

"Well, i could think of better ways to spend my spare time, but what the hey, i had nothing else planned for today."

She looked to the small dagger that pretruded from between her scales. It didn't hurt overly much, but she could feel the poison cursing through her veins and she knew she was in trouble. Calling Shadow closer, she spoke sofly, ask him for his assistance in romoving the blade she couldn't reach.
If it was not for death being held at bay she would be already dead, but perhaps the extra time she now had was gifted her to help these good people in the quest, so she would say nothing of the pain she suffered.

A man appeared out of no where, calling out to her in a language only she could hear. She could feel him as clearly as she could feel his poison in her veins and it made her blood run cold. She knew death would call for her soon, and her youthful heart cried out the injustice, but her pride would allow her to say nothing of it. She eyed him carefully. He was a man to be feared, and it didn't take her instincts to call that judgemant.

"Dark one."

While all this went on, the chocobo lay shuddering on the ground. one of the zombies had managed to sink it's teath into Cryo's hide before brendon and Kitt took care of it. Zombies had a very notorious conversion factor, when a wound inflicted turns the wounded into a zombie themselves.
Cryo cast Choco-cure on himself. the wound closed, but the poison was still there. He cast Choco-cure again, but to no avail. He wished to the reat Mog himself that he knew the Choco-ensuna spell, but alas, could only look around with hazy eyes, fighting an futil battle to stay mortal.

Shadow

Reaching around Kitt's rather large dragon body to pull the blade from her skin, the sudden appearance of this man caught us all by surprise. Pulling the blade from her carefully, I turn my full attention towards this new arrival. The man started speaking in a tongue that I couldn't understand. Judging from the looks on the others faces, they were about as confused by it as myself. Looked to me like this guy was the one behind all of the trouble starting up suddenly. Holding the blade taken from Kitt's side just a momen ago, I watched the man carefully while awaiting any signs of offence on his part.

It was all a matter of time. He knew it, probably Ferdy and Sara knew it as well. Sabaka watched Rocky closely. There was a funny thing that happened when Rocky didn't get his way. Usually, if it was dinner or something, he would just moan and groan half the night before going to sleep and forgetting it the next day. If it was something important to him, however...
Then it happened.
He dashed off into the wilderness, going back to the source of the fire. Sabaka cursed himself as he jumped onto his horse. A small kick in the hindquarters and they were off. He glanced back, if anyone came around, there would be a nice bounty for them to collect, he just had to be sure he caught Rocky in time. This wasn't a very populated forest, but still... one never could be too careful.
"Rocky!" he called. There was no response. The poor lad ran like the wind. Sabaka patted his horse gently, trying to get that extra boost of energy to reach him. A startling cry came from his right, as the chcobo flew past him.
He was so close, Sabaka reached down, trying to grab the back of Rocky's shirt. They touched, briefly, and then...
Then Rocky jumped onto the chocobo.
Sabaka leaped back into the saddle. What? Rocky was off like an arrow. There wasn't going to be much in the lines of catching him any time soon. Sabaka let his horse sprint after them, he hoped he could reach him in time.
Damn that chocobo.

Rocky rode like a champion, like a warrior. He was king of the world, and he was going to save some people...
If he ever figured out how to drive a chocobo. Ferdy didn't have any reigns or tuffs of fur or anything. He didn't want to hold the feathers too tightly, because they might fall off. The last thing he wanted was a featherless chocobo, they didn't look very cute at all. So, he relaxed and hugged the big thing as it raced on towards oblivion.
Somehow Ferdy knew exactly where to go. Rocky didn't mind much, he felt he needed to go there too. Like an itch, in the back of his neck, he needed to be a part of this, whatever it was. A calling, something in his blood, his destiny if he was inteligent enough to percieve destiny. Whatever it was called, it was with him, and he needed to go.
Sabaka was almost caught up with him now. Good, he needed Sabaka here with him as well. They all needed to go, they did. He brought a full army invasion with him. Nothing would stop them now...
except of course, for the ground.
Sabaka lept off his horse, he tackled Rocky. Rockingham felt the ground hit him hard, he tumbled uncontrollably into the bushed, hoping a tree wasn't nearby. Luckily enough nothing but some native sticker plants got in his way. He sat up, shaking his head. Ferdy was stopped by Sabaka's horse, they both looked at Rocky puzzling. He had a couple of questions himself.
"Sabaka..."
Sabaka covered his mouth. Rocky watched as he pointed downwards, a small opening in the forest canopy gave way to a view of a group of people. All of them on one side, while a strange man was on the other. Rocky thought he recognized the man, maybe he had met him fishing one day. No, it didn't look like the man to go fishing.
Rocky took the hand from his mouth.
"That's the group?" he almost whispered.
"Yeah, you don't have to whisper. We are far enough away, they won't hear us."
Rocky was scared all of the sudden. He was expecting a fight, this seemed scary, people were talking. Talk was sometimes worse than fighting.
"Are they in trouble?"
Sabaka shook his head, "Not yet."
"Should we go introduce ourselves?"
Sabaka eyed him warily, "If you are so determined to see who was here, this is your chance. We aren't getting any closer, but you can look if you want."
Rocky smiled, a half hearted smile. It wasn't what he wanted, but it was a compromise. He settle into looking at the scene below.
"If there is a fight, should we go help them?"
"Help who?"
"The side that needs more help, of course."
"What if that's the bad side."
Rocky was silent after that. He was contempt enough in simply looking for now.

Drusilla Slashed the Zombies with her sword a few times before realizing this wasn't doing any good. Muttering with frustration she noticed a Zombie inching towards Lokken whom was still unconcious. Without thinking she waved her hand and the zombie flew from Lokken to a tree about 10 yards away. She looked down at her hand frowning wondering how the hell she did that. It had just happened. She felt a tremor shake her. Shaking her head she decided she would wait until the Zombie problem was taken care of before she thought about her problems.

OOC: Pst! Lady-Siren... The zombies have been hacked... Please reread the last page and a half... ;)

Robert Sith:

Nodding to the dragon. "A respectful one..." He hissed in her language, then turned to the rest, also returning to the common tongue. "So... You have seen to a hand full of my children!" He nearly shouted. "You are all marked for a fate worse than death now... Be this, to you, known!" He growled as he stepped forward amongst them.

Brendan:

Turning his challenging eyes away from Morgoth and Druzzilla, Brendan locked eyes on the dark one as the man shouted and growled. A language Brendan's bestial heart knew all too well. "You! You sent these shambling corpse's into my sister's forest?!" With a quick look, Brendan found his sister unconscious from the pain of her shared burns. He moved between her crumpled form and the dark one. His first proirity was to protect her, his only family...

Robert Sith:

The dark one watched him with sharp eyes. How easilly they threw leverage into his hands! This one would certainly do what he must to save his sister! the dragon might be controleable through her desire to live... The teleport spell and the phantom hand that he would need to abduct the druid bitch roiled through his mind already as he slowly began to smile.

meanwhile, Cryo regresses into a mindless zombie himself and attacks everyone. Hello? are you going to just let me die like this?

OOC: You're ignoring where we're going... I know two wrongs don't make a right but come on! There's the guy responcible for the zombies standing right there in your midst and your all fucking ignoring him! Save for Ren and Moon! Love you two! *Mua*

Lokken's grueling exercises paid off and he woke up, and stood up, even though it hurt like hell. He pulled out his "terrifing" falchion and leaned on it, using it as a walking stick to walk to Brendan. "Who the Hell is he?" asked Lokken, every instinct telling him either to run or incinerate the guy.

OOC; oh, sorry for being infected with a zombifying agent. I'll try harder to wash my hands a little better. seriously though, it's going to be tough for me to remain in this thread. my character is prone on the ground, unable to even Qweh, fighting a zombifying reagent. He doesn't know choco-ensuna, and everyone else is held so conviniently captivated by this strange person. A wherewolf uncharacteristically abides his time in the face of danger, all the girls are standing around like statues, and two assholes are getting away with one of my bretherin.

I'm sorry to say but you people have painted me into a corner, and I'm too sick to wait for it to dry.

Robert Sith:

"Hnf. Thats it, protect the tree hugger lad..." Sith growled as he walked over to the crumpled bird. Kneeling down he was about to speak when Brendan launched himself at at the dark one... And straight through him to crash into a tree, saving himself from a head injury only by throwing his arms up at the last second. Robert paid the fool no mind whatsoever, none of these fools had the power to harm him here. "My dear bird... It seems without a bit of help you will become one of my mindless zombies... I offer you a way to keep that from happening... What do you say? "He prepared two more spells in the back of his mind to help the bird if it said the right words.

OOC: How's that Cryo? Brought you back into the game. Uncharacteristic? He is my character, I will play him as I see fit... He wished to protect his sister and at that point he wasn't wolfed out anymore so lay off will you? Ayone else out there?! Brendan just showed that the Dark One isn't all that easy to just reach out and touch... Now he is crouched over your prescious lil birdie-poo too... ;)

Ooc: Ferdy can leave any time she wants. She's a friend, not a prisoner of war.

Sabaka looked at the man. A fate worse than death. It seemed like this person meant business. There, off in the distance, limping up was what looked like a mage. Sabaka recognized it instantly, he must had used that spell. His wounds didn't seem external, and no zombie could inflict magical wounds. Those however, were magical. Why would a somewhat good person want to defy the forest though?
More information would be needed, oh yes.
Sabaka glanced over at Rocky, who eyed the scene warily. There weren't many things that kept his interest for too long, but this did intreat him. Something was disturbing about this, he didn't know why though. The bright summmer day brought about another revolution. A chocobo.
Ferdy herself looked onto the view below. She saw the black thing, lying on it's side. Sabaka wondered if it were dead, or merely hurt. There wasn't any time to find out though, it seemed like a fight was going to break out. Something that Sabaka didn't think their presence would help much.
Behind them, in the bushed something stirred. For the first time in his life, Sabaka was actually afraid to turn around.
