A weighty issue

You go, Captains Wenchhh! You rock!
I can relate to this subject. I just find myself, all of a sudden, having new inspiration to exercise more, eat better, etc etc.

Ok, I"ll jump on this bandwagon. I need all the support I can get, tho have some new "sinsporation" in this lovely Master of mine. I want to be flexible and strong and cardiovascularly capable of handeling anything his imaginative soul can dish out. That's gonna involve some weight loss, which I really need anyway. So, I've made a few deals with myself. The biggest one is this... No jumping on the Harley, can't ride AT ALL, until I lose 20 lbs. Once I get going, I'll keep it up, the wt. loss. I think my next personal reward will be airfare to go visit Sir where ever he may be at the time. Wish me luck, and thanks for starting the thread!

We have a weekly weigh-in thread here. But most of our weekly weighers retired. And I'm now a daily weigher.

I watched the Utube chick. The problem I see is that she is young. She may like herself fine now. Lets see how she feels when she is over 300lbs.

With regards to the poor eating unhealthy foods..it's not all a matter of poor food choices. Grocery stores have abandoned inner city areas. In many areas There are no outlets for fresh foods of any kind. If one does not have transportation to a store with fresh foods they are pretty much SOL.

I recently watched a program about this. It featured a women who was so determined to get fresh foods for her grandchildren that she spent 2.5 hours on a bus (round trip) and walked a mile to get to a supermarket. Imagine trying to do that if you worked.

I'm spending more since my girl went veggie.

I am making a concerted effort to increase both mine and my daughter's fresh fruit and vegetables intake. One of the hardest things for me to do was to allow myself to splurge on the cut up fruit, pre-made salads, etc. It's not that I can't afford them...but they felt like extravagant purchases. Now that I buy the pre-cut carrots, fruit salads, and lovely mixed green salads we eat so much more
produce and I really am saving money in the long run.

I know exactly what you mean. It's hard for me to say, I'm worth it and the convenience to me is worth it.

With my children or husband it's easy to say they are worth it.

Wow!

Good for her. That's impressive. I don't know how she does that. God knows I don't have that kind of time.

Interesting article.

“The inverse relationship between income and obesity seen in earlier studies has eroded,” said co-author Jennifer G. Robinson, M.D., M.P.H., associate professor of epidemiology in the University of Iowa. “Obesity prevalence now is similar across all income categories, with obesity prevalence in the highest income group rapidly approaching that of the lowest income group.”

Yep, same here. I'm also lucky in that, even though I'm definitely overweight (God knows how much because I refuse to climb on a set of scales), I have a very large frame (read: built like a man with big boobs). That large frame and my height--5'9"--help downplay my weight, although it's obvious to any casual observer that I'm not a little girl.

I, on the other hand, am not a big girl. I'm 5' tall (and 3/4 inch). I'm big boned for somene my height, but compared to, for instance, you, I'd still be small boned. I've been refered to as tiny and petite, even with all this weight. I'm just very very VERY careful about what I wear. It also helps that I gain weigh porportionatly, so I still have a waist, etc.

I am also a big girl.. but funny as it is to say I'm a healthy big. Never had problems with blood pressure or blood sugar or anything remotely related to obesity. May be the way my body is built though. I have an hourglass figure
(May be a big hourglass but hey still hourglass) Have read some studies and in my training as a nurse have heard that body shape does have some impact on health issues. For example having a large belly puts you more at risk for some heart problems. The only issue i have ever really struggled with is self esteem. But have met a Dom that is actually very fit and muscular who absolutely loves my body. Has done wonders for the old self esteem :nana:
Not saying I don't adore bigger guys.. cause i do. Just seems when you allow your self esteem to get so low you would never believe anyone could want you. What seems strange to me even now.. my Dom is what society would consider a " hottie" and I laugh considering what goes through peoples mind's when they see a fit guy with a BBW. Have come to love this body of mine mostly in realizing the pleasure it gives my Dom. I know I'm rambling ( sorry) think my point is.. society tells us what beauty should be so we hate ourselves for not being that. When you find someone who loves you for who you are it goes a long way to show that we are all beautiful in the eyes of those who love us.. and we should be proud of that. As far as acceptance goes in the BDSM community I have actually found a lot more acceptance her than with the vanilla's ;)

Good for you on finding someone who thinks you are great just how you are. Hold onto him tight. Some people are not even so lucky as to find someone who is willing to help them get better or even think about the fact that they might be awesome people when it comes down to it. No matter the weight we are who we are and if you aren't willing to be yourself then what is the point of trying to change for the better.

Beauty is what society says it is sometimes and thats not at all right. The whole thing that bugs me is someone like Tyra banks can gain a little bit of weight and she is still beautiful and vivacious which I love. She is not as skinny as she was when first modelling but she is trying to promote what they call "plus size". Even if the girl isn't a plus size model in most normal peoples eyes atleast she is promoting anything but another twiggy.

The bdsm community seems a lot more open to size and weight differences, I guess that is because no matter what size you are the skin is still sensitive for most people and you might be overweight but you will still like to have your nipples licked and other things done.

I like the dove campaign cause they are promoting all different shapes and sizes and ages... Thats just me though.

I've resembled that remark most of my life. Some might say I do now.

I think in another life, your ass and me would get along just fine. :rose:

this is fantastic Bandit, you're an inspiration to us all! Keep up the good work.

I feel better now. Thanks you two.

Having spanked my own ass, I know it has enough meat on it to be fun but not nearly as much as I'd imagined. That's called learning through tasks!

This just brought back images from the scene from Secretary where Maggie Gyllenhall's character tries to take a hair brush to her own ass - unsatisfyingly, of course. That movie is such a treasure chest of humanity.

lol, I too had that image. I LOVE that movie! I wonder if it's a book, as well. (would be great for the book club!)

Secretary is a 2002 black comedy based on a short story from Bad Behavior by Mary Gaitskill.
