a visual arts forum?

That's not what I had in mind. That is merely one of the threads that would be part of a forum for visuals.

We have a whole load of threads devoted to painting, drawing and whatever.
Some erotic in nature, but not all of them.

Are there enough artists and fans here to keep such a forum rolling? The poets' corner here is what I deem pretty much the mininum of activity and regular members to not lose momentum.

Im all for creating a forum for the visial arts and feed back on creation, style, medium... IMHO that would be the coolest thing ive seen yet on LIT.

I see what you mean. But I still think it would be a good idea to have them threads all together, so that's why I said why not make it a subspace inside the AH.

I haven't asked Laurel yet, because I wanted to find out if their was enough interest in it in the first place.

What's the point in asking if everybody else says: stupid idea.

In my opinion 20 votes is a bit meagre. I'd like to keep this up for a week or so before taking any action. Not everybody is on every day.

How about a Visual Art’s Gallery within the AH as a sub-forum? That way it will be more visible and can still have the advantage of being a part of the AH.

And I think, if there is a way to clump all our threads together we'ld all get more visits. As it is now the threads are spread out and sometimes hard to find.
Some people know about only one or two of the threads, Clumping all the art threads together would solve that problem.

so is this going to go any further? There are so many artisians on LIT that everyone from Artist to the casual "i dont know art, but I know what I like" enthusiest should be given this a big hell yeah. So I guess this is a *bump* for the cause.

Creative people are often ignored until they, or one of them, does something to really get the recognition going. This is a site full of "creative" people. Getting a movement for something like this in a place where everyone is creating something that they want seen will never be that easy.

Though I'll be happy to be proven wrong.

I sent a PM to Laurel earlier today to ask if it's possible to create a sub-forum within the AH. A Quartier Latin for the threads on visuals. That way those threads would not lose contact with the writing part of the AH.

I also mentioned I had no intention of including the Amateur Pics in it, because that is a well established part and easy to find. My reason for taking this on, is that there are a number of threads that get swamped in the mass of the entire AH and I feel that's a shame.

Making it easier to find, will hopefully attract more viewers and/or contributors. I think.

I agree. Some artwork can tell a story, and some arts can represent a story in a piece of artwork.
