I don't see what would be wrong with that.

Why do authors write incest stories or LW to get more reads? Or are they all just sharing one of their experiences?

Same could be said of every category here. They are stories. Some are the voice of experience, but many are not. Chances are pretty good erotic horror, SF&F, and the rest are an author exploring what it is like to be in someone else's shoes, and not from personal experience.

If a guy wants to write as a woman, there's some very famous precedent.

There are plenty of female writers here. I'm sure many have submitted stories based on true experiences.

But does it matter? How would you really know? Just because someone says it's true -- especially on a site full of fictional stories -- doesn't mean it is.
