last week by a girl when she asked her to stop applying make-up in class.

Shame there is no respect for teachers these days.

Seriously, I think there might be circumstances beyond this that could explain the girl's behaviour.

When my mother taught she had an incident where she had rocks thrown at her.

You teach enough individuals and one of them is bound to have emotional problems at some point. I'm sure most teacherts on the board have had at least one or two nightmare students.

When I hear of this kind of behavior..

I get visuals of "The Substitute." How come in the real world, I can get busted for even suggesting a threat to someone, but a FFA (Future Felon of America) can literally get away with murder.
I don't know why a bunch of teachers don't get together and form a educational co-op for homeschooling away from the ratcages.

I am as enlightened as the next, but discipline is such an anathema these days, that our kids are destined to grow up knowing more about cicvil litigation than english or math.....

Hopefully they can make a living pursueing inane but sucessful litigation.......

No doubt had your freind retaliated, even by calling her a name, both she and the school would have found themselves as defendants.....

Lots to thank the US for, but this crap is not an example of democracy and the modern world at its' best.
