Via this wonderful firefox plugin, a user can place any single thread on ignore. It can also highlight threads, as well
The plugin can also;
ignore specific avatars,
ignore specific signatures,
ignore specific users-- EVEN mods. If you chose to ignore a user, you won't even see his quotes in other people's posts. Or hers, of course, however, since I can ignore threads, I find it less needful to ignore most users entirely.

:)
(I am sending all healthcare threads bye-bye from now on.)

Could you do us a favor and ignore them before you have the urge of posting them?
Its possible.

It depends on how many threads I end up putting on ignore per day, yanno? Because I will see each and every one of them, at least once...

Ooh lovely. I think I ignore some people only because of their sigs. I'm going to take this baby out and see how it performs. :cattail:

So this means I'd hafta go back to Firefox?

Fixed it for you.

Membership in a social forum does not need to be a constant exercise in bravery and fortitude, although you are welcome to it if you want.

Yeah, I sorta get a kick out of taking responsibility for myself and not needing a babysitter.

Whatever gives you a kick is a good kick. ;)

 Did they update it? When I tried it last time, you were still stuck with a certain mod who refuses to separate posting from moderation duties.
I admit, I haven't tried to ignore pure, because I can now ignore his threads if need be. That takes the pressure down a dozen notches!

Doesn't do me much good anyway, since I still browse known sites with IE *laugh*

Firefox is my second pen-name login and my questionable site browser ( because half of the malware is in ads on sites nowadays, which the ad-blocker in FF does a good job preventing from executing in any way )

Where does it explain how to use the plugin anyway? Before I install stuff, I usually like to take a look at what the interface is like or at least what sort of steps I'll have to go through once I do have it installed. Is there a link to a manual or something of the sort?

Right click on the element you want to control, scroll down the commands list to FfVB management, let that list open up, pick out the appropriate command from the list.

At the bottom of the list is an options choice which gives you some other functionalities...

If you need to change something you've done, you can open an interface from the tools list in Firefox. So, if I decide my curiosity will kill me unless I find out what stupid thing is being said in the 'tea party patriots' thread, I can open the interface, and pick that thread and go to it-- without taking it off of ignore.

wonderfully simple, I wish more plugins were like this one! But it's very easy to uninstall firefox plugins, also from the tools list. :)

Thank you very much. :rose:

I think I'll try it. Not that I have that many people on ignore, but it seems like it could be quite handy once I get used to it.
