I feel like I've heard this question before, when I was 13 playing truth or dare at a slumber party? I don't know, it's kind of a contrived question really. I suppose the underlying question is really about where the line is between sexual attraction/orientation vs horny lust in a spur of the moment situation; and what is the basis for our sexual boundaries. I have my sense, which is that I personally define my sexual orientation based on desire and attraction, and NOT experiences (how many homosexual people have entered into heterosexual relationships for a variety of reasons). I also don't really care about definitions all that much honestly; I'm good with what I like, and that's all that counts. If I find someone attractive, that's all great and exciting, and I wouldn't spend one minute worrying about why. I personally just don't find men physically stimulating, and while I fully support trans individuals to self identify however they wish; as far as attraction goes, I usually feel pretty much the same that I do for men: nothing there. This is nothing against men, gay, or trans people at all; I love everyone, but I just don't feel any sexual connection there. If, and there are many "if's" here; but IF I were single, and IF I were looking, and IF I was actually attracted to another person that much (male, female, somewhere between), then I don't even see any question. The thing is I just don't see that attraction being all that likely.

Most guys would probably decline the offer and politely leave. If I, a straight guy (not white and don't look white, but everyone on the internet treats me like I am), express an opinion about this, recent experience tells me I will be perceived as a privileged oppressor. My opinion will thus be cast as worth little, and is very likely to be interpreted as wrong no matter what I say. Over the last five years, I have just stopped expressing opinions about anything that has to do with race, sex, religion, sexual preference, etc.

Notwithstanding the above: I would take a dose of Viagra and go to town.
 
The question reveals less about an respondent’s orientation that it does about their belief in what they define as female. Straight men are attracted to women (obviously) but some will include transwomen in that and some won’t. Therefore I agree that the question is leading and plenty of straight men will be put off of answering for fear of being called transphobes.
 
First and foremost, I identify as straight, but I think the older I get, the more secure I become, the wider my spectrum of what I allow to turn me on increases. Given the situation is right, I could absolutely have fun with a very feminine trans-woman.
