When I sign on to Literotica, and go to any of the bulletin boards, They remain highlighted, even if I leave and come back later, while on the same connection to the http://www. I am on one of those T.V. cable connection, called Worldgate. It may be due to that, but even when I hit "refreash" it dosen't clear the highlighted boards I've been to. I want to be able to do that so I can see updated threads while I'm on the boards. For now I'm having to sign off and then get back on to see the updated material. Is this the case for people on PCs? or is it just web tv, or the system Literotica uses????

I'm confused by your question, but that's because my mind is elsewhere. I'm very aware of the times of the posts, because that's how I find which ones are new after I've been on the board for a while. Hmm, maybe that's an answer after all! It seems like I have the same problem. Anyway, I've adapted quite fine.

You're not as confused as I am!

Thanks April, I guess it does update automatically, as in your responce appeared right away!! I'll have to do what you do and keep my eyes peeled. I appreciate your help.

Technical Details

The problem is the time lag from the time you log on to the time the BB decides you've gone somewhere else. Approximately 15 minutes.

When you first call up the main BB index, it puts a "cooky" on your system with the time you logged on. If you refresh the page within 15 minutes of the time that cooky was placed, it considers it the same session. If it has been more than 15 minutes, it assumes it's a new visit and updates the bullets as well as the times.

There are three ways you can get it to update the bullets.

Log off and back on with the Logoff link at the bottom right of the main page.

Disconnect and reconnect from the web. (not always effective)

Go to another site for fifteen minutes and come back.

It's not a "bug",because it works exactly as designed. It's more of a design flaw in the BB software. It is a pain sometimes, but I like it better than the old BB software that didn't keep track of what messages were new.

sooo helpful

Oh harold, You've saved the day for me! I understand now and will try the log off button that I never noticed before. I see why you like this program better, considering all would be so crazy and confusing without updates on what's new. Thanks sooooooooo much for helping me understand!

I'd like to thank the hard working people at Literotica for always expanding and making this site No.1 in my book. I really apprieciate your efforts and am grateful for the relatively new Personals board, that has been added. Hats off to you!!!!!!
