A question about cookies and Lit

I'm on a pc that's new to me. I'm finding it won't let me log into my Lit member profile in the story section. Just brings me right back to the log-in page when I try even though I'm having no problem on the Board.

I've gone to my privacy settings and enabled cookies there thinking that might help but it's still the same.

Any ideas?

I'm running Windows 98.

how about checking the opion in your profile to remember you on this comouter?

My cookies are enabled in my option profile here at the forum.

Something else that's different is I have to log-in everytime I come back even if I haven't logged out or cleared my cookies. Not that I mind that but seems there's something that's stopping my cookies.

Didn't work.

I used to get right into my profile without having to log-in when I was already logged in here on the boards.

Go to the top of the browser window, click tools, then internet options.

On the "general" tab make sure that the settings in the second section down are set to either "every time the page loads" or "automatically".

On the privacy tab, slide the slider to medium. You can also use this tab's feature to override privacy settings for particular websites by entering the URL for lit there.

Might wanna try those settings to see if they work better for you.

Good ideas but I'm afraid I've tried them. I even overroad my automatic cookie settings to allow all cookies and to keep them through my sessions. Still no good.

Jeez....I'd hate to not be able to submit to Lit anymore.

Is the machine that you're currently on using a windows operating system such as Windows 95, 98, Me, 2000 or XP? If so which one? To find this, you can go to the start button in the lower left corner (presumably) and choose "help". It'll be on the logo in the screen that opens.

Which version of Internet Explorer are you currently using? (to find this, go to the top toolbar, click "help" and click "about internet explorer".

Ok, you said this computer was new to you, right? Was the previous owner running any cookie-blocker software? Something like adsubtract or something like that?
