I was very proud of my son today, my ex-wife got in touch with me via email, to inform me that his band was doing very well. So well in fact, that they'd come first in a battle of the bands competition.

She also told me, he'd started to construct a web site, dedicated to the band. If you'd like to check out one of their songs, the address is as follows.

http://www.Thevoiceofmanwe.com

He's only put one song on at the moment, for the site's still under construction, but it's in MP3 format, so you shouldn't have any trouble downloading it.

I'm just a proud DAD, so forgive my horn tooting, he's doing well for himself.

Hey Carl,

For 10+ years I was a professional musician.

About halfway through that experience, my old man finally managed to get to one of my shows. I was the keyboard player that night in a band where I was not the front man, just one of the guys, though they knew he was there and let me hog the show for the majority of the first set.

In any case, the style of music was definitely not to my Dad's tastes (it was funk as opposed to classical) and to my surprise, he made it through the whole set.

Afterwards, he walked up to the band table while we were going over the songs for the second set, and in front of the whole band said in a load voice, "Ed, YOU were incredible...you carried these guys!" Hugged me, and went home.

I got home at 4:30am and there was a message on my machine, "I'm so proud of you...you should HAVE a band, not be IN a band. I love you."

That was the single best night of my musical career.

Make sure HE knows how proud you are.
