A primer on Unions and Union Membership

That is where my disdain for unions come from. No stats, just my experience and they have been bad both times.

Off to bowling, damn pinsetters are union I'm sure, which would explain my lack of a 300 game to date.

:D

I've seen that happen too.

I guess it helps if you hire people that have a work ethic and then they join unions.

Unfortunately that's the ideal.

I just know, I bust my ass, and no matter what in union houses I got what everyone else got, and in non union houses, I sometimes got shafted, because they could get away with it.

It's half a dozen of one, six of the other.

I just wanna get paid when I deserve it. The union made sure that happened.

Please realize that I am not saying anything about the individuals on this board who belong to unions. I can understand the reasons that you would choose to belong to one.

My points are on a more macro level. For example, many unions restrict productivity to extend the length of a job. Therefore, city highways repairs take years instead of months.

no, I think you have some valid points.

I think there are pros and cons to both sides.

I think it is great when they work, and not so great when they don't.

Right to Work for less is not about worker's rights. That is the fog big money lays on real issue. The politicians pushing this garbage through are doing so to win favor, votes, and blowjobs from the rich Republicans who pay for the slick ads come voting season.

Those stats have nothing to do with your post, which said:

"Right to Work states have had wages drop like pie. Not just the unions but the rats as well have seen wages, condition, and safety records fall."

You said wages have dropped, which is untrue. The data you posted said wages in Right to Work states are lower. Those are two entirely different things.

The silly comment about "rich Republicans" makes no sense at all. To my knowledge nearly all the states in the Deep South have until recently been dominated by Democrats, and all are Right to Work states.

I can't speak to the death in the workplace issues, but I'm highly suspicious of the numbers

Now we are back to my original post, which questioned your erroneous statement about "wages dropping like pie" in Right to Work states.

Some people standup for certain things and some people will set down for anything.

It's all in how you look at it.:D
