Hi,

I'm not new here, I have simply created this new account for a one-time purpose. I am going to try a novel way of getting the attention of the webmasters who seem to be ignoring us.

A few minutes ago, I submitted this story:

++++

Once upon a time there was a website which had a novel concept: a home for interactive adult fiction, in which various users could construct stories of fantastic and erotic nature. What's more, they could contribute to each others' stories to make them richer and more detailed. The site soon had a small but intensely loyal following of authors, with a good sense of community. They supported each other and enjoyed one another's creativity in this wonderful new online playground.

As with any website, there were problems with this one. Minor issues, of course, but difficulties nonetheless that made the site less enjoyable. Fortunately, the wise webmasters knew that their creation would have bugs to work out and so they took two vitally important measures: they posted an E-mail address to which users might write and inform the webmasters of difficulties, and they created a forum on the discussion board specifically for suggestions on how to improve the site.

The users were happy, and presumably so were the webmasters. Many stories came to be written on the website.

Unfortunately, this blissful state of affairs was doomed to suffer. For reasons known only to themselves, the webmasters soon stopped responding to their E-mails, or reading the messages in the forum which they had created for suggestions. The users were puzzled, but assumed that the webmasters were away for the short term only and would soon return to address their concerns. After all, new stories were still being approved, and so there had to be people approving them.

Alas, this was not to be the case. The webmasters remained absent, and soon the users stopped sending in their suggestions and bug discoveries. Many of them left the website altogether, frustrated that there seemed to be no answers to their queries despite the fact that the website had been set up with such a thing in mind. A core group remained, however, because the concept of the website was still as good as ever, even if it were less than perfect in its operation.

Then, one day, a user of the website hit upon an idea. Since the webmasters were ignoring their E-mail and message forum, but were obviously reading newly submitted stories, why not phrase his concerns in the form of a story introduction and see if the webmasters would read it and respond? Surely, the worst that might happen is that the story would be rejected without comment, but the user hoped earnestly that such a thing would not happen, and that the webmasters would come to realize that all the user wanted was to be acknowledged. Of course, the writer fully expected the story to be rejected, as it wasn't a real story, but with any luck the webmasters would respond either by E-mail or in the message forum, and the users would once again have contact and discourse with those who ran the fine and worthwhile website.

Upon receiving the story, what did the webmasters do about it?

++++

Hopefully, that'll get someone's attention!

I don't plan to use this account again. I certainly don't expect the story to be accepted, but if it is, that tells us something right there doesn't it?

Here are seven dancing bananas for your viewing pleasure:

Category: why didnt I think of that?

What an innovative plan!..after all, nothing else seems to have worked!

I agree

I bet it gets approved too.

I really wonder if anyone reads some of the stories that get approved.

:D

How long does it usually take until the stories get approved? Just wondering, cause I'm waiting

My theory...

Hello,
I notice I am a little late adding to this thread, but none-the-less I have something to say. My theory is that your story, yet innovative and seemingly a great idea will be approved without any second thought. I believe the webmasters read the title, category and other things that tell what the story is about... I doubt if the thread actually gets read. For all we know, it might be a computer programmed to search the threads lenght, and for words that hint to breaking the rules!

Good luck, has the story been approved yet?

I'm sure it'll get accepted!

Not only won't they read it, it'll be posted in the featured stories link on the main page!

Wouldn't that be a real kicker?
