A plot bunny

The young gentleman in question:

Well, it's finally happened as we knew it would--and as the article itself points out. Fashion designers have finally admitted that what they're really after is a male body, not a female body. Because a female body tends to be not that tall, has breasts and hips and even, yes, fat. All those curves are so hard to design around.

But with a male body--especially a nice young one--you don't need all of that. You can have the perfect "hanger"--flat, very tall. No troublesome curves.

And, um, well, if one is a gay male fashion designer, one's model will also finally be the sex you want to have sex with ;) There has long been some argument that gay male fashion designers have been leaning toward this all along, trying to make female models look male. Or maybe just imagining themselves wearing the dresses--so here's the perfect vicarious stand-in for them.

I'm not sure if female models are an endangered species, yet, but it's certainly harder to find women that naturally tall and flat. And one has only to watch RuPaul's Drag Race to know what with a trick or two to hide the candy, a man can wear haut couture as well if not better than the best female model.

And welcome to it, at that. Haute couture wears you, never the other way around, and I don't care what Coco Chanel said.

(edit) this is an old and well-travelled road for thousands of slash writers!)

"Couture wear is made for the tall, twiggy and flat bodies that most women, even models, don't have. Essentially, the clothing is quite suitable for a lean man or even a boy."

(But we've known this for years!)

Haha, timely!

I have a scene that plays on this in my now "pending" smutfest.

I think you're right. Even in guy's clothes he looks like a girl. Amazing . . .
He's one of those true androgenys in looks. Female enough in women's clothing to fool, but close up and you think (or at least, I think, "hm..." there is something not quite female here), yet put him in men's clothes and he still comes across as being in drag, as not completely male.

What he's really got that's most important, however, is that David Bowe magic. The camera clearly loves him and images seem to want to keep him beautifully ambiguous. I'm gonna bet some savvy designer will start a line of androgynous clothing just for him--clothes that suit both sexes and indicate neither.

:D A lesson we should all learn and remember

Exactly! Ju$t think of all the money we won't have to $pend.

And yet, I cannot help but wonder just what he's got under those clothes and that androgynous look. Most cross-dressers are straight, I understand. And given how tall and thin he is . . . just what is he hung like? And what goes on back stage after the show with the other models?

But is he just a cross-dresser? He seems to have all the male bits and no indication that he wants to be rid of them, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn that his sexual orientation is as flexible as his wardrobe.

Well, that is the default bonobo and Classical Civ. position. Why not? If I were to be interested in another male, Andrij would be one of the more likely candidates. However, it's been so many years since I had any urges like that . . .

Uh, Stella, those are squirrels, not bunnies.

Just thought you might want to know. ;)

Damn!! That means instead of Hossenfeffer, we're going to have to have...

SQUIRREL IN CROCK POT

4-6 dressed Squirrels cut into serving size pieces
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
3 tbsp. lemon or lime juice
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. ground ginger

Place squirrel halves or Squirrel pieces in crock pot. Mix all ingredients in a small bowl and pour over meat. Cover and cook on low heat for 7-8 hours. To thicken gravy, use either flour or cornstarch mixed with water. Cook on high until thickened.

Which begs the question, if I were interested in him, does that show an interest in another woman?

Honestly, he's attractive enough to kiss, but that's about as far as it goes for me. First, he looks way too young. I'd start feeling like one of those teachers who take advantage of fourteen-year-olds. Next, he's away too skinny. Last, I get this feeling he'd just lay there :p He doesn't need to be an aggressor, but he strikes me as not real responsive. Maybe it's the modeling/posing thing? I kinda think the fashion designers don't want him too animate. It would ruin the hang of the clothes ;)

I've never eaten squirrel, mostly through lack of access. How do they taste in comparison to rabbit?

Rabbit is a white meat and squirrel is dark. Squirrel is also tougher is cook to fast. The crock pot recipie is good but I prefer squirrel smoother fried with pepper gravy over rice.

I take the legs off the backbone and then cut that in half. Clean well, flour, and brown the meat in a hot skillet. Don't cook it, just brown the flour. Then turn the heat down, add water until about half the meat is covered, put on a lid and let it simmer slowly for 3-4 hours.

When the meat falls off the bone, add a little flour to thicken grave and serve on a bed of rice.

Finger licking good.

I've heard good things about Kentucky burgoo, too.
