A Place Of Ones Own (closed)

"They both look up to you. I just thought that maybe it would be good if they spent a day out of the keep. I'm sure that Da and Ma have good intentions, but they probably haven't given the boys a day to themselves." Annie said softly.

She adored her little brothers and they adored her in return. It would also give her mother and father a rest that they needed very much.

"I'll be glad to take them out. Maybe out riding, I'm sure Rho would love that." David let his forehead rest against her own and he sighed contently before his thoughts strayed to the darker side of what was going on in Inverness. "I noticed all those werecreatures are still here... why do you think that is? Is there still someone out there coming for Inverness?"

"I don't know." Annie answered honestly. "I can only hope that Ma and Da keep an eye on things around here. In the mean time, maybe your mother might stay around a little while longer...in case we need her help as well."

"We'll have to talk to them tomorrow..." David muttered softly. It was easy to detect the sleep creeping into his voice and his eyes. It'd been a long day. His arm wrapped around her waist a little more securely and he kissed the slender curve of her neck. "I'm sorry, love.... Can't keep my eyes open anymore." Letting his head rest against the pillow, it wasn't five minutes before he drifted off.

Annie smiled when he fell asleep, his arms keeping her close at all times. He did that in times of stress, making sure that she was never far from him when he needed her. She was content to lie in his arms, but sleep didn't come easily. In fact, she barely got an hours worth before the sun was rising high in the sky the next morning.

David rose with the sun as ever, and went out to take care of chores as was his habit every morning at home. It was as if they'd never left. However, this morning he knew he wouldn't be going back to work. The lumber camp, being outside the palisade, was shut down for now. Their home was just within the walls, and it was too dangerous to venture beyond. Instead, David sat outside the front door looking at the nearby palisade gate. It'd clearly sustained massive damage several times but had been rebuilt. He'd never seen so many werecreatures in his life as he'd seen pass by that morning. They were all wild tribal Lunars and the Calm and a few reformed Teo.

Annie woke a while later, still tired but knowing that her day needed to begin. She dressed in a warm dress that was the same color as her hair. She started her morning ritual of carefully pinning her hair back up before she started a breakfast of eggs and fresh bread. Soon, she was stepping outside to a plate for her husband and a mug of hot cider.

She sat down beside him and kissed his cheek sweetly, watching the wolves that were walking past their home. "I've never seen so much activity this early in the morning."

"They're ready to fight..." David mused quietly. "Werecreatures are always ready when there's danger around."

He rose to stop two who were speaking in English to one another, and after quiet questioning, he let them go and returned to Annie. "Sounds like the Erygonians fell back after your little brothers killed their leader, but they've been striking hard whenever the town isn't ready. They're gathering reinforcements and new leaders from the mainland and the rest of the isles and support from the Norway and Wick Loyalists who want leaders like Olaf and Arland back."

"After so long? Arland has been dead for 16 years and Olaf just as long." Annie commented, thinking about her family.

Her aunt Kayla and uncle Christopher had done wonders for Norway. Their children were smart, loyal to the country, and would make excellent leaders in the future. She had no idea why anyone would ever want to try and overthrow them. And Wick...Wick had been under the crown's control for years now.

"Da and Ma are in no position to fight a war." Annie said softly, taking David's hand in hers and squeezing it tightly. "Ciaran isn't a fighter. Kate...well, Kate is too headstrong right now. Are you prepared to take up my father's cause if need be?"

"I've been ready to do that from the moment I was old enough to be called on to fight, Ann," David answered softly. "Hopefully they won't have to call for half-trained men like myself now that we have Lunar allies who have trained all their lives to defend themselves and their brothers. But if it does come to that, I'll do my best."

He leaned over to kiss her cheek and he offered a reassuring smile. "But don't you worry, love... no matter what happens, we'll all be together."

Annie returned his smile, leaning in to kiss her husband gently and passionately. She loved this man so completely and totally. How she had been so lucky to catch him, she would never know. Her fingers moved to tangle in his hair when the kiss ended and she let out a little sigh as she pressed her forehead against his own.

"You promised me on our wedding night that you would do everything in your power to make me happy. I have to say, David, that you have done that and so much more." She whispered to him, letting him know just how much she loved and needed him.

"I'm just getting started, Ann," David answered after another kiss, giving her a little teasing smirk. He brought her onto his lap and gave her ear a gentle nibble with a chuckle. She'd always had such an effect on him, but it'd intensified since he'd figured out where he was meant to be. It wouldn't be a surprise if he ended up becoming a fisherman now.

Annie gasped as she was pulled into his lap, his lips tugging on her ear. She grinned, moaning softly at his playful attention. He had always been a passionate man, but she had never seen this level of expression from him before.

"David Shenandoah, if you're not careful, we'll end up back in bed before this morning's even begun." She whispered.

"Great idea, Ann," David smirked and easily picked her up as he rose, carrying her back into their little home. He brought her to their bedroom and laid her down across their bed, kissing her with such intense passion that he stole her breath and clarity away. But it seemed to be over much too soon, and he drew back from her to sit back on his knees above her. David's eyes searched over the beautiful curves and valleys of her body, feeling a deep arousal akin to the one from their first night together.

Annie loved seducing her husband. The way that David looked over her body told her how much he wanted her. Carefully, she undressed herself under his heated gaze until she lay naked before him. With his full attention, she let her hands wander over her body, pinching her nipples until she cooed with pleasure. Slowly, a hand drifted to her wet lips, teasing them as she looked into his eyes with all the love and pleasure she could muster.

"I love you, David." She murmured breathlessly, her fingers curling slowly into her entrance as her other hand pinched her nipple firmly.

David licked his dry lips as he watched her like a starving wolf would watch a steak dangle in front of his eyes. Slowly but surely, his hands came to replace her own. One rose to her breast, massaging the tender globe until his finger an thumb encircled the hard, pearled nipple and continued the assault. His solid shaft was firmly erect in his trousers as his opposite hand came to play with her sensitive clit whilst she continued to seek her entrance with her own hand.

Annie whimpered as his strong hand cupped her breast, hefting the globe slightly before his fingers surrounded her pearled nipple. The feel of his hands had always been amazing, the roughness of his skin in contrast to her own. Her hips bucked of their own accord as his fingers found her wet and throbbing pearl.

"Love..." She gasped, her eyes locking onto his as her fingers sank deeply into her treasure.

Soon drawing back his hands, David pulled off his shirt to reveal his hard, toned body, and then he unbuttoned his trousers to free his hardened cock that hungered so terribly for her soft body. Gently pulling her hand back from her blossom, his shaft took over and reached deeper, but he didn't give her his all quite yet.

His hands now found her waist to hold her still as he made mind-numbingly slow strokes into her body, the same sort she'd experienced in their second night together when he'd tortured her body with such slow strokes until she cried out begging him to give her release.

Annie let out a silent cry as his hands wrapped around her hips and suddenly his cock was pressing into her body. Her fingers clenched in the covers of their bed, anchoring her as he made slow, sweet love to her. She would be begging for release, she was sure, but right then, she simply enjoyed the moment with her husband.

"Kiss me, David." She murmured softly, lifting her lips towards his.

David's hands rose, slipping ever so slowly up her body to guide her arms around his neck, but he didn't kiss her yet as she wished. He loved to tease, but more so, he loved to hear her voice and he wanted only one thing from her. "Promise me something first, Ann..." He whispered. "Promise me that we'll always have mornings like this, even if it's just laying in bed, quiet... And promise me that you'll always be mine, and we'll always be together..."

Annie smiled that devilish, precocious smile that she was known for as he asked her for a solemn promise. "Not until you kiss me." She whispered back, teasing him just as he did her.

"Fine," he smirked back, and their lips met in a sudden, hard, earth-shaking kiss that only a strong and intense man like David was capable of. He loved how he could very nearly overwhelm her, then pull back just enough to let her get hold of herself again. It was like the beginning of their relationship had been revived.

Annie was lost at sea as her husband kissed her like he had during their courtship. She sighed sweetly, her fingers tangling in his hair as that little spark returned to them. It made her belly do that strange flip that had been lost shortly after their marriage.

"I promise you that we will always have mornings like this. That we will always be together. That I will love you until my last breath is taken." She murmured against his lips, nuzzling against her husband as he continued to make slow, sweet love to her. "I promise to bear you a house full of wee babes. I promise that our home will be filled with intense love. I promise, above all things, David, to give you the family that you never had."

David pressed his face in against her neck as she promised him all he wished and all he never would've dared to hope for. "I love you, Annie..." he muttered softly before catching her lips in another intense display of love and passion. For the first time since their doubts had arisen about their relationship in Greece, it felt as if their love and marriage was solid and unshakable.

Annie sighed happily, melting into his kiss as he showed her just how happy he was. She was pleased that they had come to some understanding on their relationship and she was happy that they were stronger then they had ever been. She wrapped her legs around his hips, her heels digging into his flanks as he continued to pump into her at a steady pace.

"Ride me, David." She whimpered against his lips, her eyes heating up with the passion and love that she had for her husband.
