A Place Of Ones Own (closed)

David was slave to her wishes, wanting nothing more than to please the woman who had done so much to make him happy, and had even offered him freedom from their marriage for the sake of his own happiness. It was that very thing that made him never want to leave her side again, and he felt freer bound to her that he'd ever felt alone with no ties.

His hands braced firmly against the bed on either side of her waist, and his powerful thighs began to raise the pace until the bed rocked with the force of the rhythm. Years of lumberjacking had served to make him a beast.

Annie gasp, whimpering as he planted his upper body and started to pound into her entrance. Her fingers gripped his shoulders firmly, scouring his skin with her nails as she howled out in pleasure. He made her lose her mind, taking her to heights she'd never known before.

"Yes...love...just like that." She encouraged, whimpering as her orgasm flooded over her body in a warm, wet rush, clenching around his cock unexpectedly.

That unexpected moment was exactly what pulled David over the edge with her, his seed once more filling her belly for only the second time since their wedding night as he locked their hips together. Leaning down, he kissed her with all the emotion and hunger and love he could muster without holding anything back at all.

"Oh!" Annie yelled as his warm seed flooded her body.

She whimpered hotly as he kissed her with that intense passion that she'd come to love from him. She sighed as his heavy body pinned her to the bed, their heavy breathing loud in the room around them.

"I just need...a few minutes..." She murmured sleepily, her eyes already drifting shut.

David smiled softly to himself and pressed a kiss to her cheek as they settled easily in the sheets. "No rush, love..." he whispered. He remained at her side for a while before rising without disturbing her. He dressed quietly and made his way out to do all her chores for her, and it was only when noon came that he crawled back up on their bed and woke her with a kiss like he knew she loved, just as she'd always read in her storybooks.

Annie slumbered peacefully, getting the sleep that she needed and hadn't received the night before. When David kissed her awake a few hours later, she sighed softly and gave him a sweet smile. Her eyes opened and she stared up at her husband like he really was her handsome prince.

"How about some lunch?" She murmured softly. "I'll make your favorite."

"I already did, love," he chuckled. "Come on." He drew her up into his arms and kissed her before he gave her another handsome smile and slid from the bed. He'd already gotten everything done that day, freeing them for the evening to spend time with her family and his mother. Everything was quiet in town, if not a little bit tense, but it was peaceful and that's all anyone wanted. Those whose jobs normally took them outside of the town now worked on reinforcing the palisade gate and the walls around it, as well as inspected the walls all around for weak points and tunnels just in case.

Annie was shocked and surprised as David told her that he had already taken care of everything. She smiled softly as he pulled her from the bed and they dressed for the rest of their day. He had always been kind and caring and thoughtful, so incredibly good to her. He still had a way of making her heart swell and a silly smile appear on her face for the rest of the day.

After their meal, she saddled up a few horses, determined to take her brothers on a nice ride. They both still seemed so withdrawn as they brought the horses into the keep's yard. It broke her heart a little to not see those vibrant personalities any longer.

"Alright, you two. David and I are going to take you on a ride." She announced, showing Rho that she had brought his favorite steed, Auger.

Sam and Rho had been out walking together, safe within the confines of the courtyard. Surprisingly, Sam was probably the less energetic of the two, weighed down by guilt and shame, whereas Rho was quickly coming to terms- like youth of his age often did- with his disability, though he was weighted with shame for the pain he'd caused his parents, Julia especially. Even so, it did the boys a lot of good to see Auger and their sister and beloved brother-in-law.

Annie let David deal with Rho as she made her way to Sam's side. Placing her hand on her little brother's head, she brushed her fingers through his thick black hair. He was quiet, reserved, so unlike his usual self.

"David, why don't you leave Auger to let Rho get use to him?" She suggested, knowing that Sam needed time to talk.

As soon as his brother was situated, Annie took Sam to a low bench in the shade to sit, holding his hand gently as she looked into his forlorn gaze.

"You know that Rho will be just fine, right?" She said softly, knowing that it had to be hard for Sam to see his brother so badly injured.

"It was my idea..." Sam admitted softly. "If I'd just moved faster when the wolf went for him, my shield would've saved Rho's arm..." He sniffled quietly, but quickly blinked away the tears that threatened to fall. "It's my fault..."

"It very well might have been your fault." Annie said, taking her brother's chin and making him look at her. "But that doesn't mean that you should let it haunt you for the rest of your life."

"I'm sure that Da has those same heavy thoughts about men he lost in battle. It hurts a little more because Rho is your twin." She gently wiped away the tears that fell from her brave brother's eyes. "But you're both here today. You're both alive. You should be happy for that."

She leaned in and kissed his brow gently. "As for Ma, you should work to be a little bit sweeter to her. You know that she's going through a lot with Ciaran and Kate and Da. Not to mention our new sibling."

"That was why we tried to fight the shaman in the first place," Sam explained tearfully. "So Ma and Da could rest and not have to worry about a war anymore. But we just made it worse..."

"Nonsense, lad," the sudden voice of their hulking father reached them. He had come from inside the keep and he was finding his way by sound and the difference between the cobble path and the grass turf beneath his boots. Sam rose to hug him tightly about the waist, and Brogan knelt to wrap him up in a comforting embrace. "What you an' Rho did gave our Lunar brothers jus' enough time t'reach us while th' Erygonians were scramblin' in confusion. Y'may well 'ave saved a good many lives." He kissed his son's forehead and rose to face Annie, offering a hand out to her to welcome her closer too.

Annie stepped into her father's embrace with a tight hug before she turned to look at her little brother one more time. She gave him a gentle smile and ran her fingers through his thick hair.

"The hurt might take a while to go away, Sam, but you need to know that you did the right thing." Annie said softly.

Sam nodded slowly and Brogan let him go to Rho and David. Brogan laid his head against Annie's and sighed softly. "How're ya doin', darlin'?" He asked quietly. He seemed suddenly so old and so tired, but still strong and steadfast as ever, if a little weathered.

"I'm alright, Da." Annie murmured, hugging her father tightly. "But I'm worried about you."

She had always been worried about her father. She knew that a large part of that came from the way that her mother had died. She felt that she never had enough time with him, even though he treated her just as well as he did her siblings.

"You do too much and you seem so tired. I know that you're worried about Ma, but you need to let everyone else take care of her and focus on yourself."

"Yeah, I know, love." Brogan sighed, "But yer Ma's more a priority t'me, you know tha'. 'Sides, it's easier t'make it through th'day thinkin' about her than it is always thinkin' about bein' blind an' whatnot." He kissed her forehead lightly. "Don' worry too much about me, love. I'm alright, jus' gettin' used t'my own skin again."

"I'll always worry about you, Da." Annie said softly. "I always have and I always will."

She kissed his cheek and hugged him tightly again. "Would you like to ride? I can help you get phearson in order."

"I can handle Phearson jus' fine m'self love. I learned t'saddle 'im in the dark a long time ago. This'll be no different." With that, he followed the path to the stables. It wasn't ten minutes before he was back with the greying old Highland warhorse. Phearson snorted gladly, having not had his proper rider on his back for too long.

"Come on, lad," Brogan muttered to him, and the stallion found his way alongside Auger. Phearson seemed to know something was different about Brogan, but was used to being able to move freely.

Annie stood there and watched her husband lead her little brothers and her father on their horses. Her family made her feel complete and filled something in her soul that was indescribable. Inverness was where she felt at home.

It wasn't much longer before she saw her Ma enter the courtyard, a tired look on her face and her hand pressed against the growing belly that sheltered the newest Ghis. She walked over and kissed her mother's cheek, hugging her tightly.

"Are Grandma and Grandpa here for dinner? David and I want the whole family together tonight." Annie asked her.

"I believe so, love. Your cousins and aunts and uncles are here as well. Perhaps a nice, Ghis dinner is what we all need." Julia said, smiling warmly at the woman that she'd always considered her daughter.

Brogan soon came back to them riding high on Phearson as he always had in the past, and Phearson came to a halt before Julia. Brogan reached down with a soft smile and lifted Julia up with ease to sit side-saddle before him. "I'm gonna steal 'er from ya a while, Annie love," Brogan smiled to his daughter before Phearson began walking smoothly away. There was no speed to jar Julia at all, and Brogan held her steady in his protective arms. David followed his example and came by to scoop up Annie to ride with him. Rho and Sam were now together on Auger.

Annie was the better rider, but she always enjoyed riding with David. He had a smooth style, much like her Uncle Theo. She leaned back against his chest and let Phearson lead the way.

"The twins look comfortable." Annie said softly, watching as her brother's settled comfortably into their ride. "And Ma and Da look good too."

"They do," David nodded with a smile. "Just a bit of distraction, that's all they needed. I know there's a town and clan to be run, but even the leaders need some time off." He pressed a kiss to her cheek and let their horse follow the others freely.

"I worry about them all. Too much sometimes." Annie said softly. "But I guess that's what family is all about. You worry about their well being."

"Well, save up some of that worry for when we have our own little ones to fret about," David kissed her cheek and looked up as he heard Sam and Rho giggling quietly together. Things were getting better, slowly but surely, despite the threats around them. David also noted a lithe black werewolf in a dark cloak walking along beside Kate as she was in the front garden that was open to the courtyard. Normally Kate kept to the back garden that was private and unable to be seen from the outside, so it was a nice change.

"I wonder who that wolf is..." David muttered.
