This is the dugout right before a game. I was allowed unprecedented access due to my awesomeness.
Or was it because I asked? I don't remember. It's not important.

Then my daughter threw out the first pitch. She gets her athletic prowess from her mother.

I have video of the first pitch but you can hear the announcer say her name so I can't put it up.
I also have video of my son playing the national anthem right before a game but it the video sorta sucks because they weren't standing where I thought they'd be.

That's right, be jealous.

I love when you post these threads. Years ago I was a counselor at a kids' day camp and we took a trip to the baseball stadium. We got to go into the dugout and the locker rooms (note: it took me about three minutes to remember the term "locker rooms." I was stuck on "like dressing rooms but for sports." I'm really into athletics, obviously) and through a series of underground tunnels that existed for a reason that I can't remember. It was all pretty cool, but they were totally unimpressed until they saw the soda machine in the locker room.
"Wait - you mean to tell me that professional baseball players get to drink free soda before a game, whenever they want???" Could not believe it. An unfathomable luxury.

The players see the soda machine the exact same way because they're still just kids, too.
Why do you think it's there?

Oooooh. I finally understand why people wanna be baseball players now.

When I was a kid, I always dreamed of being rich enough to have a soda machine in my house. Now it seems like it's easier just to put the cans in the fridge. Adulthood kinda sucks that way.

More please.

Great pics. What's the tall character costume thing with its arm around the celeb?

That is the world famous Johnny Tin Cap who is supposed to be a mascot version of Johnny Appleseed who is buried just a couple miles from the stadium.
He did nothing else in Fort Wayne. Just died and got buried. So they pretty much centered the whole city culture around him. Makes sense.

Yes but those others didn't have my offspring throwing out a first pitch at a professional baseball game. That entitles me to do whatever the fuck I want.

Single A. Lol.

But there's nothing more fun.

They did the same for Poe in Baltimore.
