A Peregrinator Thread.

Cows and ice and bad dogs and worse knees and snow and muck and ruined boots and pulled muscles and miserable little munchkins and painkillers and a shot of something awful tasting.

But somehow I'm smiling through it all.

Go figure.

Great attitude to have.

I forgot to ask you what you meant by fruit slice likers.

I just skied to the post office. Love this small town stuff. We could have home delivery, but we both like going to the PO in true small town style. My local pharmacist knows me by name.

Thank you! I didn't realize my absence was even noticed.

Take your cat to work day is a brilliant idea and sounds like an episode of Are You Being Served?

I recommend against hoovering mouse dung in the future.

Sweet. I'm glad you're getting out in the world more. Feeds the spirit.

Good, and thank you! I still grin when I think about annual training. You made me a hero...

I have yet to und4rstand the 1911 mystique. But good on ya!

I love that you feel that way. Those moments are priceless, and when they endure, it's blissful.

Oh, I want to hear that track!

Balance in all things...I've been meaning to try the cuke juice thing myself.

I still want to hear you play it. I'm glad you're back around more these days, too.

For years I wanted to write to Annheuser Busch and Marlboro and tell them that red whit and blue litter was far and away the most prevalent.

...and this is one of my favorite vigilante fantasies.

I'm glad you did. :lips:

Ya I'm going to hit my first trail this weekend if we have nice-ish weather. Goal is to hit a different trail and fishing spot each weekend that I'm not at a reenactment. Need the exercise and walking around the block is boring

edgar had a drink;
almost every day...
mostly now because he no longer smoked
and his reconstructed knee
would no longer permit him to climb.

what he loved of smoking and climbing...
were so alike and so disparate
that he no longer bothered trying to elucidate the...

well...
you get it.
or you don't.

it was the parade of women that got him;
almost every time.
he could count on it;
almost every time...
and he couldn't entirely explain it...

ever.

hubris, most certainly.

nothing was so effortless in edgar's life.
but, this was never about edgar.

he forgot to remember that.

You assume he's talking to you ;)

Actually, my sweet, I assumed it was a misplaced isoblurt.
Note the Colnago av.
I noticed. Atmas would be proud.
Hi, Perg! This thread drew a lot of folks I enjoy reading. And now I want flavored vodka.
Hiya, Arte. It turned out pretty well, indeed.

Excellent. What part of the world are you in? A lot of folks make checklists of stuff like all the highest peaks in a state and check them off. A fun project.
Hi! I'm Jamie.

Now we have.

Hi Jamie. Most people here call me Perg or something like it. Nice ta meetcha, and welcome to the GB.

One is almost four, the other two and a half, kids, but I knew, you knew, what I was talking about, being all worldly and stuff.

I'm in Michigan. This summer Ill probably just stick to the 3-5 mile metro and state park trails. I don't really plan on doing any hikes that take more then 4 or 5 hours to complete. I don't really have much modern camping stuff to go all out. I don't think we have much more then hills here anyway

There is a long moment when I have the kids in bed, the TVs and/or music off and I climb into bed with a book or my phone to call my s/o and the dog curls up against the back of my legs, the cat up against my arm and it's calm and sweet. That is probably the second best part of my day after tucking the kids into bed and reading to them from whatever book we are on. A lot of peace in my house these days.

Sometimes, when nobody is looking, I pick my nose.

I will not elaborate any farther.

Ha! See?

Come on, kbate. You know the song and you're always outdoors.

You know exactly what I'm talking about. That happy feeling.

Yes, I do know that feeling. But I don't sing that song to describe it. Never that damned song, there's no song on the planet that gets stuck in your head faster than that damned song and now I've got to listen to it bouncing from lobe to lobe because of you.

Head a couple hours north..I'm guessing...and I'll show you hiking country:)

+1

I made pasta for tea tonight. She had two goes at it and the kids I'm babysitting only gagged a couple of times as a joke. Good result.

Wings, these kids LOVE The Twits by Roald Dahl. Giggle Mania. Works like a charm.

All in all a good day.

We just finished the Hunger Games series. Also my youngest will read us Captain Underpants too. I'll check out The Twits, thanks!

I'm sorry. It won't bounce around for much longer, I promise.

When that song which shall not be named came to me I couldn't help but smile at myself. It was that inward smile that gave me a feeling that everything was alright with the world. You see, it's not the song itself. It's the feeling you get when you're happy. On the inside.

I have 4 days off before I have to return to work for 4 days, and have 4 days off again and work for 4 days. Oh yes.
