Hi everyone,

There have been a lot of cries of censorship, complaints that this forum is moderated at all, complaints that this forum shouldn't exist, etc. I'm being faulted for a lot of it. I'd like to formally request that ya'll give me a break. This is my first time moderating any forum, let alone such a large one. I guess the important thing is I'm doing the best I can. Okay? Cut me a little slack, if you can.

Thanks,
Etoile

You can have all the slack you need. I think as long as everyone continues to communicate, this forum will evolve into a wonderful place to post. It's a big job you've taken on as moderator ..... I don't know how any of the moderators can do it without going nuts.

As for me, I'm still not all that comfortable posting here and the locking of that thread did make me think twice about what I would be able to do as far as posting in this forum but it is such a relief to see that you're obviously listening to what's being said here. Thank you for that.

just do your best, girlie = )

ps I think that any forum with the word "chatter" in it kicks ass.

Warning: this post contains fluff and such...

Hang in there, it's not an easy job! I moderate a writing forum; and it isn't easy. But it's lots of fun. You need a vent or whatever, PM me.

Two way street.

I got no problem cutting you some slack. You gonna cut the rest of us some slack on trying to control what we post?

If so, I got no problem with you at all.

basically i echo everyones sentiments. while i don't know what goes on behind the scenes i cant see hoe this would be a difficult task~i mean the onlytime you should step in and actually moderate or remove a post or whatever is if someone has a complaint~isn't that how it works?

I haven't seen you faulted for anything. I have seen you claim I'm mad at you for some reason because I have problems with this forum. I said this in the other thread but it bears repeating if you're going to stay the mod: don't take it personally. I've worked years in customer service and it helps to remember that. You're never the source of someone's anger, or disappointment, you're just the only one to complain to – the focal point.

I've already said that I will.

Maybe we're reading different threads? I've been singled out for a lot of abuse on this new forum, and probably elsewhere that I'm not aware of. But you're right, I shouldn't be taking it as personally as I am. As for issues between you and me, we discussed that in PMs already...and as far as I'm concerned, it's behind us.

I have a wedding to attend in less than 12 hours, so I'm not going to spend too much time on this right now. Have a good night, all. :)

I agree with Queersetti that what we are seeing is the forum's growing pains.

There are always going to be heads butting against each other in the beginning. The important thing is to move on without hard feelings.

No, we're reading the same threads. I just know that when someone is talking about you they aren't talking about you: they're talking about THE MOD.

It's always interesting when my reality clashes so strongly with another person's. We never had issues; I was just flirting with you and you misunderstood.

Never,

Are you causing problems over here?

Etoile, don't worry about it. I'll handle Never.

*smacks Never upside the forehead*

Ok, things will be just perfect now. All in a day's work. :)

Doh. I guess that's a really good point. Thanks for mentioning it.
