A Noobs response

Sorry, BucksMaster, I wasn't targeting you, in particular, with my 'discourse', since you seemed to have handled things so much better than your predecessors.
- Nevertheless, I took advantage of the opportunity presented by this thread, to express how I (as a random forum member) view things.

And the word newbee and the manner in which I described things are a bit… .But imo this is the internet, where we sometimes act uncharacteristically, and biological age is less important.

There is two ways I could take that. The first is to thank you for your kind words.

The other is to extract from the Alexander Pope poem ...

Damn with faint praise, assent with civil leer,
And, without sneering, teach the rest to sneer;
Willing to wound and yet afraid to strike,
Just hint a fault and hesitate dislike.
(Prologue to the Satires: An Epistle to Dr Arbuthnot, 1735, 201-4)

I am doing my damnedest to be nice on here,at the moment,so I will accept the former, pro tempore, thanks😉

I just realised that I used an unfortunate choice of words. Sorry if they came across the wrong way.
- I was actually referring to myself. My own discourse seemed, even to myself, a bit high-schoolish (words like n00bs, "initiation"), just like a few of my other posts. And I was feeling a bit embarassed by it.
I was trying to explain that in real life I actually talk and act mor. in line with my biological age.

And the "initiation of newbees" thing is something that has been bothering me for some time, and I used to hint about it whenever the occasion arose.

That's disgusting.
I reserve "cunt" for people I like.

Lol

The etymology of the word is actually really rather interesting, because there is no obvious reason why it should be deemed more offensive than say ''cock''.I have been at football matches where big ugly brutes have been knocking seven shades of shit out of each other because one even dared utter the word "cunt" when abusing the referee when it was shouted in hearing distance of the other's child.

Context when using the word,as with all language of course,is everything.

Some of the problems that newbies have when entering new forums are often caused by lack of observation and/or poor social skills. Instead of wandering in and taking a look around to get the lay of the land, they jump in in the pool yelling "cannonball" and don't understand why people are annoyed by being splashed.

Some of the folks around here are gremlins; getting them wet is a bad idea.

It doesn't take long, for instance, to notice that "cunt" gets thrown around these parts rather frequently. Most often by women. You don't have to like it, but you get used to it or waste a lot of energy being annoyed by it.

There are options here. If you do something that annoys people enough that they're verbally smacking you around for it, you can choose to take a different tactic or you can continue doing the annoying thing and let people waste their energy being annoyed by you. Do whatever works best for you.

Context of the word "cunt" is key.It was used to belittle a newbie .That is entirely different than me calling you a cunt now.I don't mean it in the slightest ,you presumably know I don't mean it, and life moves on.

If you start your life on here with "cannonballs" then fine you deserve everything you get. However,if you post innocently enough and are then subjected to some sort of ritualistic act then it is perfectly reasonable that a newbie has equal rights to respond.I think experienced members should,as the reverse of the point you are making, take the time to look around and be more tolerant of newbies mistakes before abusing them.Otherwise the GB will lose some excellent potential contributors who decide it really is such an unwelcoming place that it isn't worth the hassle to continue posting.

I did not resort to abuse in my response ,I got 'even' or at least in my parlance. That makes me happy in the same childish way that the ritual itself makes experienced members happy. All members are equal, and all that.Forums the world over seem to forget that.'Twas ever thus.

Lmao…
best one ever. (if it means what I hope it means).
I tried to come up with something similar, but I was unable to match it.

I truly thought this thread would be informative when I clicked on it, how wrong was I? I'm heading over to Ampics to see if any new titties have been posted.

All titties on Lit must be at least 18 years old.

Maybe they're like dogs. Boobs have a shorter lifespan than a whole human life, plus there are two of them.

Is this more Common Core math?

My research indicates boobs have a useful lifespan of at least 45 years. Check back with me because I am still collecting data.

Well, biologically even an 18 year old woman has probably only 6-year-old breasts.

Even if you double it to 12, she's still under aged.
