is there any treatment for what i'm sure is carpal tunnel syndrome other than just not using the ailing body part for a while? silly as it seems i think it's from using the scroll wheel on my mouse too much.

heat treatment, ice, get someone to kiss the boo boo?

Stop using your scroll wheel -- use the scroll bar instead.

I use an elastic wrist wrap when the pain extends up into the forearm.

I also use heat treatment when it doesn't quit hurting quickly after I stop using the computer.

My daughter uses a wrist brace when her wrist bothering her -- the sort of wrist brace bowlers use that only lets the fingers and thumb move.

I know someone who uses a wrist brace to help. He also went to a big thumb ball 'mouse' instead of the standard mouskie. Also try a special mouse pad with the thick pad on the end to rest your wrist on...

Well UJ, you either stop the offending motions or you have surgery. There's no real cure unfortunately. I had to give up wind surfing because of it.

thanks...it's funny but it's not in the wrist at all, just the right index finger from the tip to the middle knuckle so wrist braces and such probably wouldn't help. i've started using my middle finger for scrolling and left clicking and i'll see if that helps.

i think i will try some heat on it. thanks harold

Then it isn't a "Carpal Tunnel" problem -- the carpal tunnel is in the wrist.

It sounds more like you may be developing some form of arthritis and the repetitive motion is just making it show up there first.
