A whispered conversation overheard during the kindergarten lunch.
Child 1: "Her hair is purple!" {Yes, my hair is a deep purple color.}
Child 2: "I don't know her name." {I read to the class every day, help in the lunch room every day and have said my name repeatedly ~ every day.}
Child 1: "I think it's Ms. Lincoln or something like that." {Uh. Not quite.}
I walked over and said quietly to the kids: "It's Ms. glynndah, with a G, just like the witch on The Wizard of Oz."
Their eyes got as big as saucers and their mouths gaped open in amazement. I could practically see the little light bulbs above their heads. The last thing I heard as I walked away was "Wow!".
