A whispered conversation overheard during the kindergarten lunch.

Child 1: "Her hair is purple!" {Yes, my hair is a deep purple color.}

Child 2: "I don't know her name." {I read to the class every day, help in the lunch room every day and have said my name repeatedly ~ every day.}

Child 1: "I think it's Ms. Lincoln or something like that." {Uh. Not quite.}

I walked over and said quietly to the kids: "It's Ms. glynndah, with a G, just like the witch on The Wizard of Oz."

Their eyes got as big as saucers and their mouths gaped open in amazement. I could practically see the little light bulbs above their heads. The last thing I heard as I walked away was "Wow!".

I recall a wonderful story about Grandma looking after a couple of active youngsters and finally getting them into their beds; but they chatted and chatted.
After performing her own ablutions, removal of make-up and so on, with a huge towel wrapped round her head and a large bathrobe on, she stormed into their room and told them in no uncertain terms to pack it in.
She left in a hurry but heard one say to the other
"Who was THAT?"

Good one. :)
