A Higher Chat Thread

Hi Sao!!!

So glad you had a good time ..... it IS a beautiful city, isn't it? :)

Yes, I totally agree on the organ donation ...... I carry a card as well, have done for years. And like you, I feel that once I'm gone, I don't need anything anymore, so let someone elese have them if they're any good! Mind you, some of my parts might be more worn than others, but they probably wont want those anyway ..... ;)

good morning to all ,and how is everyone here today? Dont mind me ..I am just stalking Higher ( kidding) ...Nice to meet you all

So what time is it over there?

I understand....it's about 7:15am here. What time is it there?

Hi Everyone!!

Welcome back Sao.... your trip sounds lovely....very happy for you!!

Morning Higher.... a good funny one there...and yes, Lord and Taylor is a department store here......I think it maybe just the east coast but I'm not sure.....

Hi again Dream....and LuLu..... seems like you all are in good spirits.....as usual!!

Sao...about that organ donation.....I've carried the card for many years as well.....but as a reference here in the US, even if you have the card, your family needs to know your wishes...AND carry them out.....unfortunately, if they do not agree, for any reason, its a no go on the donation....I don't agree with that, but its the way it happens..... even though I have a living will/health care proxy, my family still has the final say on any donation.... so I've made sure they all know..... there is so much to be donated....even skin...to help burn victims, just take it all.....what will I need it for.....! Glad you brought that up....the lists are far too long for transplants....
now I'm off my soapbox! for now at least!
 donate it!

thats really good advice Cate ,thanks..

I need to get a living will made myself as I wouldnt want my kids to worry about what to do ,etc..

and yes donating Organs is a worthwhile cause Indeed

oh yes, Dream...definately get that done...most hospitals have the proxies...just sign and file with them.... at least that will take care of end of life issues.... make sure you keep copies and give them to all your docs and your advocates.....but make sure everyone in the family knows YOUR wishes with this serious issue. I had to get it all together a few years back...the whole "get your affairs in order" thing.... it may take some time, and a bit of money of the will, but it is necessary in this world of litigation....no one wants to make mistakes or take responsibility.....so take it out of their hands...get it done!

I definately will ,thanks Cate , as I had a serious scare just last year with my heart and it really made me stop and think , and I lost my Gramma last year also ..and I saw up front how short life really is..I surely wanna live it to the Fullest...

** If an organ being donated ..would help save someone ..how wonderful would that be!!

exactly!!! I have met some wonderful people through my illness, who have had transplants.... a few had lung and 2 have had heart transplants.... although both with the heart had terrible problems and unfortunately have passed on...

I hope all is well with your heart now.....and I'm sorry for your loss of your Gramma...

well, it's not exactly school for my daughter. It's more of a play group. she leaves about 1:30 this afternoon.
