On Thanksgiving the wife and I will be driving up to my folks place. Unfortunately it doesn't look good for us riding up there. (I'm still having problems with the bike.)
This afternoon we dropped in at our favorite Butcher Shop and picked up a couple of items to bring north with us.
One pound of Home Made Liverwurst. (No not that over salted yet bland Pate you find in the American Grocery Store. This is the real stuff.)
Three pounds of Home Made Bratwurst.
Two pounds each of WeisseWurst, KnockWurst and JaegerWurst. (All made on the premises.)
One Pound Speck.
One smallish Westphalian Ham.
1/2 pound HandKase.
4 containers Pickled Herring. Two of Wine and two of Cream.
(I'm keeping 1/4 pound of the Handkase and two of the containers of Herring.)
Almost all of this will be kept chilled in the fridge until we head north. Then it will be lovingly packed in a cooler with Ice Packs.
I'm sure my parents will enjoy this little delivery of old world joy.
