Olympia WA at it's weirdest and finest...
The home of the first Procession of the Species beginning in 1995 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Earth Day. The Parade has only three rules:
No written words
No live pets
No motorized vehicles

The Procession of the Species is a joyous, spontaneous artistic pageant where community members celebrate their relationships with each other and with the natural world.

Created by the community for the community, the Procession program facilitates seven weeks of art, music, and dance workshops that inspire personal understanding of and local action for wildlife protection.

Then on Procession day, residents don their creative expressions and proceed through the streets of Olympia in masks and costumes. Carrying banners, windsocks, and giant puppets, they participate in a cultural exchange honoring the awe and splendor of the natural world.

There are usually about 2000 or more people of all ages in the parade!

Love the creative expression........viva les arts!

It's the colour that I love so much about this thread. It really makes me feel more positive and is very inspiring.

Suss ~ thank you for saying this about "colour"

I do love the B&W erotica images...
But at other times I strive to bring out the beauty in every color ...and the colors of creation remind me of just how to do this.
Cascadia ~ is the palette of my life... and it is easy to see how there is every possible color here. At the ready to inspire and bring joy and happiness to those who have eyes to see.

This is in the Columbia City/ Beacon Hill neighborhood.
Seattle is a cool town partly because it has such distinct neighborhood communities.
