I just happened to wander into the erotic services section on Craigslist the other day, and I found a whole bunch of ad's that didnt quite make sense to me. Im really just curious but for example;

1.What does Incall and Outcall mean?

2.When they say “ a donation” of $250 is that basically prostitution? Paying for sex?

3.When you hire an escort, are you basically hiring a prostitute? Are you guaranteed to have sex with them?

4.When you take an erotic vacation, are you basically paying for sun and sex?

I know that Incall means you can come to her place, Outcall means she will go to your hotel or wherever.

Thats all I know....

Incall means that you go to an an apartment--a
"brothel". Outcall means escort-they come to you.

Yes, that's a euphemism.

3.When you hire an escort, are you basically hiring a prostitute? Are you guaranteed to have sex with them?

In principle, no. In reality, yes.

Can't even imagine paying for it....not that I am above that or a snob...just does not seem right to pay a woman to have sex or sexual favours...it must be mutual for me !!

An escort means just what it says. An escort for the occasion.

Only this time you will get a blow job on the way there.

Do I need a cape to wear when I swoop in like this? Or maybe when I'm summoned you could grant me some wishes? (I know that's all backwards, but it sounds like fun.)

There's aren't any indisputable answers to your questions, because so many people (escorts, call-girls, providers, PYL) run their businesses in so many different ways. I'll take a stab at answering your questions, and present a gamut of possibilities.

1.What does Incall and Outcall mean?

Basically, Incall means you go to her and Outcall means she comes to you.
Mr. Rathbone is correct that sometimes Incall = Brothel, but that is not always the case. To me, Brothel connotes a shared space in which multiple girls work under the direction of some organizing person, such as a madam.

Incall could be in a woman's home or apartment, a five star hotel, or some other rented space. Usually when escorts travel they offer incall at a hotel. Outcalls can occur at a client's home, in a hotelroom the client reserves, or in some other mutually agreed upon space that is not the provider's realm.

2.When they say “ a donation” of $250 is that basically prostitution? Paying for sex?

It depends. Prostitution is the verbal exchange of a sum of money for a sexual act. If a man asks "What can I get for $100" and a provider says "A blowjob," that is prostitution. If a guy goes to a jack shack and the dancer says she'll give him a handjob for an extra $50, that is prostitution, and it's also known as up-selling.

If a man visits an escort, or a social companion, and there is no verbal exchange about sex for money, the donation is specified to be for her time and companionship only, and anything that happens between two consenting adults is seperate. Sexual contact can happen, but it is not an act that is paid for, and it is not ever guaranteed.

If a client comes to an escort and asks her to do a specific act in exchange for a sum of money, she will likely kick him out, because she does not want to engage in prostitution. A man who asks an escort to exchange sex for money is either crude and uninformed, or an undercover police officer. A savvy escort will not engage in any conversation (whether by phone, email, or in person) with a potential client that involves discussion of sex acts.

3.When you hire an escort, are you basically hiring a prostitute? Are you guaranteed to have sex with them?

It depends on who you hire. Many of the girls on CL do specify that they will perform sex acts for money, and they could very well be classified as prostitutes based on that. Some of those girls are also scam artists who will do what's called a "cash and dash" where they don't even spend time with the client-- they just take the money and run. They are not committing the crime of prostitution, they are committing robbery. Other girls who promise to get a guy off in their ads will get naked and tell the client to jack off. They are just false advertisers. Some reputable escorts do advertise on CL, but it's generally a lower echelon of providers that you'll see there. There are a lot of rip-offs, a lot of spammers ,and a lot of drug-seeking individuals that co-mingle with the legitimate escorts who advertise on that site. It's not the best place to go to find a girl, but it's certainly accessible to a wide range of providers and potential clients.

On the other hand, if you want to hire an escort, you can do your research at any number of sites that provide reviews of escorts. You are not guaranteed sex, although it is likely that you may find yourself receiving some. Again, it is at the discretion of the provider. If she likes you, she may want to be intimate with you. But just because you walk into the room with a fistful of dollars does not mean you're guaranteed anything.

It is sometimes the case that if a woman works for an escort service she does not have as much say in what she does in a session, because she isn't working for herself. Some coersion does happen in escort agencies, and I'm not entirely in favor of them. They may offer a woman a higher volume clientele, but the quality often suffers.)

You could hire an escort so you'd have a hot, sexy, intelligent date for an event, or just because you felt lonely and in need of a woman's company. The beauty of hiring an escort is that she does not represent any of the potential negatives you might encounter in the dating world. If you hire a great escort, you'll feel absolutely adored for the space of time in which you two interact. She won't reject or criticize you, as a potential real life date might. You don't have to try to impress her. You don't have to do anything, except just enjoy her company.

4.When you take an erotic vacation, are you basically paying for sun and sex?

Do you mean take an erotic vacation like going to Hedonism, or do you mean hiring an escort to accompany you? If you're paying for Hedonism, you're paying for the hopes that you'll get sun and sex. Same with an escort. Neither is guaranteed.

If you hire an escort, you are paying to have a pretty girl on your arm. You are paying to lie on the beach next to her, instead of lying there by yourself. If she likes you, maybe she'll have sex with you. After all, vacations are very romantic. But you're not buying sex from her. You're paying for the privilege of her company and companionship.

The caveat to all of this "not guaranteed" stuff is that if you hire an escort and you're unsatisfied, for whatever reason, you get to write a review. Her business depends on the strength of her reviews, so if she's rude to you, or if a girl rips you off, orif you're otherwise unsatsfied, you can let the review board readership hear your side of the story. On the flipside, if you visit an escort and the experience is amazing, you should write a review as well. It's consumer advocacy at its finest.

A word on the ethics of choosing and hiring an escort:

Many people assume that women in the industry are there because they are unskilled, uneducated, down-and-out, drug addicts, or forced into it against their will. There certainly is some grain of truth to this assumption, but this is simply not always the case.

Many women are in the industry because they love the freedom, they love the excitement, and they simply love what they do. I'm one of those women.

So how do you avoid exploiting a woman who is fragile? How do you avoid enabling an addict?

Do your research. Read through as many reviews as you can until you find ones that use words like "warm" "sincere" "intelligent" and most importantly, "clearly enjoys herself". Pay attention to the way her environment is described-- that can give you a lot of insight into her emotional environment as well. Send her an email or speak with her on the phone as a person. Use your intuition. Ask her what she likes to do in her free time. Ask her what books she likes to read, or what movies she loves.

I also recommend choosing independents over agency girls. You'll know who you'll be seeing, and you'll know she is making her own decisons. You don't have to worry that she has an evil boss pressuring her into situations she isn't comfortable with.

Choose an escort who's clearly got herself together, and you won't have to fret over the ethics of potential exploitation.
