A disturbing site

All the little kids around my house are now playing "war games" the little boys are running around with fake guns shooting each other.
In edition to the front of the local news paper that has 4 boys (one looks about 10, others 16-18) bare chested and "I'm ready for war" painted on the their chest.
Yes, the people who did this deserve to be punished. But the fact that so many people are ready to go to war (and have more people be killed) is disturbing to me.

I am sorry but teaching our children that kind of thing puts us right with those Palestinian parents who were teaching their kids to dance in joy over what happened here.

I guess I'm one of those people that concern you, because I firmly feel that retribution is required and if war is necessary then so be it. Sometime justice needs to be swift and complete.

I won't attempt to force you to agree with me on that, however I do ask you to understand that people react differently to different situations.

Some become afraid, some fall apart and some become angry.

As a soldier of this nation....I'm ANGRY!!!!!

However, I wouldn't allow my child to show such public lack of respect, no matter what my feelings are.

The parents of those kids are shameful people to let their kids behave that way.

The parents themselves have no class, these are my neighbors.

brazenblaze - I agree that retribution is necessary. The disturbing part is that people are so ready for it. They are eager to get to war and kill people, as well as have soldiers be killed themselves. That is what disturbs me.

Yes, it's easy when you know that someone else will go take care of it for you. They know the military is there, and that makes it so easy for the posturing and public displays of classlessness. People screaming about how we will bomb "them". It's quite different when you or your hubby might be the one sent out to do this.

Shutting up now. Otherwise I will rant and that will do no good.

Kids shouldnt be doing that. They have no real comprehention of what is really going on. Yes, war looks to be inevitable, and if it happens, I'm behind my country one hundred percent on whatever action they take, and yes, more lives will be lost, but, they follow in the lead of their parents.


The state of mind is the same in Afganistan, or Palistine, they follow in the lead of thier parents alright, but instead of brandishing toy guns, they get REAL ones. Ones that dont just shoot water, or make a noise, but actually have the potential to kill.


Who knows what will happen in the next few days, or weeks for that matter, even hours. We will just have to wait and see......
