"Just after 4:00 a.m., a man drove his car into the vehicle barricade at East Capitol Street and Second Street," Capitol Police said.

"While the man was getting out of the car, it became engulfed in flames. The man then fired several shots into the air along East Capitol Street," Capitol Police added. "When our officers heard the sound of gunfire, they immediately responded and were approaching the man when he shot himself. Nobody else was hurt."

Sunday’s events for some brought to mind the April 2021 death of Capitol police officer Billy Evans, who was killed when a Virginia man drove his car into a facility barricade.

Furthermore, in 2013, Capitol police shot and killed a Connecticut woman near a facility checkpoint after she smashed her car into a White House barricade and fled down Pennsylvania.

The drivers in each of those cases had mental illness, Politico reported in its Sunday newsletter.

Why don't these people have a name?
what???

of course they had a name, but it wasn't released publicly until the family had been informed of his death

his name is (apparently) Richard A York III, 29, of Delaware
now whether or not that name is due to incel-breeding, a poor joke, or some other twist of fate is another matter

Ah yes:

“The subject has a criminal history over the past 10 years or so, but nothing that, at this point, would link him to anything here at the Capitol,” Manger said at a news conference later on Sunday morning.

According to Pennsylvania court records, York was previously arrested drug charges, and was sentenced for simple assault, terroristic threats, burglary, shoplifting and property damage over the course of 11 years.

“Right now I’m looking at the burned out area in front of the barricade,” WTOP’s Mitch Miller, from the scene on Sunday, said. “This is the area near the two buildings near the Supreme Court and the Library of Congress. Obviously there’s still a lot to investigate following this violent incident.”

Sounds like a typical demonic democrat.

You're delusional.

do you ever educate yourself before opining?

In case you were addressing me, RG: None of the above apply to me and won't for another 30 years or so when I arrive at your present age and state of mental awareness.

i was addressing you, showing you they symptoms of the brain injury York's mother claimed he received in school football... aka reasons behind the kind of behaviour he exhibited in his troubled years and why it's relevant to what happened at the Capitol...and having no relevance to whether or not he voted democrat or republican, if he even voted at all

I'm definitely not a doctor or a brain injury expert, but I though CTE can only be diagnosed post-mortem
officially, it can only be given a definitive diagnosis post-mortem, but (like some other chronic physical/neurological conditions) other brain-degeneration diseases can be ruled out using tests such as neurological examinations, brain imaging, and the patient's medical history while they are still alive.
