Over the centuries, folk art has had one meaningful aspect: it's free. It wouldn't be folk art if it wasn't given to someone such as a friend, family member, or neighbor without the love that goes into it when making each line, curve, and shape. I have become a folk artist, and I have one person to thank. I made a piece for her that was completely, and I mean completely different from anything else I've created. I made it with her inspiration in mind, her ideas and stories; parts of her life. I made it so unique, that only she would appreciate the full amount of herself within it.

Now I thank her because I've found a new element in creating art that I've never possessed before because I made something for her that will give life to all other pieces. I'm proud and humbled to tell you all that the piece I made for her spawned a creative streak of the likes I've never experienced before, and that I've been booked for an art show in my downtown area for the first time in my young life, and I owe it all to one woman. I think she's turned my life a bit towards a light; pushed me in the direction of the path I could never see before, and I will always be in awe of her power.

Thank you, dear friend. You've helped me find what I didn't know existed.

And that wonderful lady has thanked you on the thread 'Three wonderful Litizens'

I've always wished I were artistic. I enjoy art very much and I envy you, Myst for having such talents!:)

Will you put some pictures of this new art here for us to see?

Creating art is a beautiful thing. I got some blood on a piece of mine the other day, I did not wash it away. I left it there for the, blood, sweat and tears I put into it all.

My soul is so free when I am creating.............

Myst, it's your natural talent that has brought you to this place in your life.

It's your innate ability to see the world in a manner that's unique to you that has prompted your newfound creativity.

It's the years you've spent in the pursuit of your vision, of your artistic voice, that has given birth to this new flowering of your craft.

I believe that you see a world that's different than what most of us see, Myst. Your world is filled with colors and shapes and layers and captured emotions that elude most of the rest of us as we walk through our days. Your world may well be gorgeous beyond the world i inhabit, and i'm envious of your ability to see so deeply into the life that surrounds us all.

I cannot tell you how quietly elated i am to know that i've played even a small part in your recent artistic epiphany, Myst, nor how profoundly moved i am by your gift to me. You captured me, my inside self, in a way that was both truthful and lyrical. At the same time, you stripped me of all the non-essential stuff i scatter in my wake as i travel through my life like an old lady in the park scatters breadcrumbs for the birds as she shuffles down her path. You see with truth and accuracy. I'm awed by your gifts.

I already treasure the bit of your gift you sent to me and shall continue to do so, but the real treasure is your presence in my life. I'm far richer for that than for any *thing* i could hold in my hands, my talented friend.

Holy bejeebers, batman... I think I'm going to frame your response, cym. That was a fine piece of art in itself! I do believe that you're my muse.
