I think Lit treated you unfairly, for all the reasons others have expressed earlier in this thread.

I suspect the culprit is adrina. This happened right after you humiliated her on a thread. She pulled one over on the administrators.

I'm tempted to start a petition.

if you imagine anyone has a mod in their pocket, you're wrong
a mod cannot ban anyone, only move posts (partial posts and leave warnings) deemed spam or otherwise rule-breaking to a specific place hidden from view where admin then determines any action. sometimes posts are returned, though rarely as most mods work within the guidelines as set out by admin.
the ONLY ones able to ban are admin, and even that is an arguably weak system since there's nothing enforced to prevent a banned poster signing up again with a new account.

Okay, but then why would it suddenly happen to one person for a practice she and many others have done for years, when she arguably hadn't even violated the rules because even where identical, her posts were germane to the threads in which she posted them?

any number of people could and probably did report the posts; if a member's opinions are so extreme they offend a lot of people, that's par for the course and can and does happen on both aisles, politically. the only reason bizzybody gets away with it so much is that most have him on ignore so don't see the vileness.

simple: you piss off a lot of people, expect multiple reports if and when you break the forum rules.

as for humiliating adrina, well i read the posts and respectfully agree to disagree about that; have you a personal grievance with her? i saw a woman with too much respect for her own time-use to waste it on ignorant, blinkered posters. clearly you saw it differently. but to then go on to say you blame adrina is... well, you doing you, i guess.

I've been thinking a lot about this because I did feel a bit guilty creating a new account after being banned. That's why I did not try to hide who I am in this account. I wanted to do it with complete honesty.

In reflecting upon it, I decided it was appropriate for me to create a new account because I was banned without any opportunity to explain myself (while I would post identical items in more than one thread, they were always pertinent to the topic of each thread and never intended to "break the forum"), or to appeal.

So I guess this new account is my appeal. By being honest about who I am, I allow anyone who thinks what I did as my prior identity was so bad as to justify banning me forever to make that case. Then the administrators of the site, if they think it important enough, can decide.

In truth, I suspect they have better things to do with their time than worry about me.

What I find ironic is, some threads have similarities, and from time to time evolve to mirror parallel postings or threads. It's only common sense that when that happens the research and response for one would be the identical response in the other. Facts are facts, they don't change because it support the same content but a different thread. So now it's come to the point that similar responses that support similar content but in different threads or different locations within the same thread and congruent to posted arguments are now considered spam. 2+2=4 in all threads it doesn't change to 2+2=5 for fear of repetition and therefor = spam. Some responses are well thought out and lengthy and as everyone here on LIT knows full well some IDJITS like to troll and egg you on the rewrite the same response. THERE ARE MUCH BIGGER FISH TO FRY, violence and racism to name a couple.
