A Companion thread...

To me happiness is what you make of it.

so very very true - everything you do has a meaning to it, unfortunately most of us take the smallest everyday things for granted.....the fact that my dad is in a nursing home shows me that you have to make the most of everyday :)

I totally agree with you Keiffers. If we don't make every minute count, then we really aren't living. At least that is how I look at it.

Knowing that tomorrow is Tuesday and thinking about what will be said in the morning. Just have to wait for tomorrow morning to get here I guess.

Good evening. I hope life is treating well, and if it isn't, then I cannot help you. I'm negative and cynical (at least that's how they describe me), and I may just be that way for the rest of my life because I have nothing to look forward to. Whenever I try to find something to look forward to, my plans, dreams, etc. get shattered.

I do apologize for my negativity, and only hope that people will find other ways to enjoy my company until I at least defeat my inner demons.

I don't have a problem with you at all Hybrid. I find you to be a thinker and someone that usually says what they think.

Yes, very true. I am a thinker. It is the only way that makes me capable of writing great work. My instructors enjoy reading and hearing my responses about things because I put thought into what I read or the discussions we have in class.

As I said though, I believe I have inner demons that need killing that cause me to be so negative all the time, even though I try not to be.

That could very possibly be true. Or it could be that you just haven't found the right reason to be happy yet too.

I once heard someone say, "Live for the moment, and like there isn't going to be another moment to live." I think that I like that idea. Simply because we really don't know what is going to happen in the next minute.

Oh......I don't think we were meant to "understand" other people.
But what we see and question in other people, helps us to better
understand ourselves. IMHO. ;)

Don't know what to tell you about those 'Inner Demons', Hybrid.
The only advice I can offer is that whatever demons may reside
within you must be faced. And defeated. For if they're never
defeated they have control over you. And sometimes that's a
painful course to take.

But I need my happiness, as well as my pain. My pain
makes me the person that I am today. Not perfect, not by any
means 'enlightened'.......but experienced. And hopefully wiser
in my ways.

Just a thought.

And a very good thought it is. Good morning and good to see you.

And a Good Morning to you as well, MM.

("MM". How ironic. At the Football Message Boards that I hang out
at, I'm known as 'Miami Man'.........or.........MM.)

Every time that I see that MM tag, I start to think that people
are talking to me!

LOL! ;)

-Niiteshade

LMAO!

It's all a matter of semantics, my dear. ;)

As I read around the MB and then see "MM", I'm saying to
myself:

"Who knows me here? And what the HELL are they talking about?"

;) ;)

I have been accused of being to honest at times and of hurting other people's feelings because I was.

This time that didn't happen, I said what I needed to say and he was smiling about what I said when I finished. I am just getting better and better as I get older.

to honest whoever told you that must not know how to tell the truth

I think that they were talking about being brutually honest with other people. I think that they meant that I could have been honest but maybe not so harsh with the honesty. But I refuse to sugarcoat anything these days.

and that is the way it sould be

As you well know, Meds.

Per our conversations.

Just be yourself. Let things fall as they may. You'll find better
partners/friends that way.

But I'm preaching to the preacher here. ;)

Sweets I do that anyway, simply because I don't know any other way to be.
So I am just me and that is the way that it is and the way it will continue to be.

Besides, being me, is feeling pretty damned amazing right about now.

Hmm... I don't think we're supposed to understand other people either. I agree with the whole "understand ourselves better" because it makes sense to me.

Nobody preaches to the preacher, they either preach to the choir or the wind. :D

I believe everyone should have pain in their life, but too much pain is not good. I never thought of it as Enlightenment, but maybe I should take some meditation classes or something and see if that will help me at all. If money weren't an option (or was it object?), I would travel around the world, get out and away from home, and explore places I've read about or seen on TV or movies. That could help me out too.

Anyhow, time for me to get ready for work. I got a long day ahead of me.
