Long read. Enjoy, fascists.

In a seemingly long gone era – before the Trump presidency, and Covid, and the 2020 election –
Doni Chamberlain would get the occasional call from a displeased reader who had taken issue with one of her columns.
They would sometimes call her stupid and use profanities.

Today, when people don’t like her pieces, Chamberlain said, they tell her she’s a communist who doesn’t deserve to live.
One local conservative radio host said she should be hanged.

The new majority, backed by militia members, anti-vaxxers, election deniers and residents who have
long felt forgotten by governments in Sacramento and Washington, has fired the county health officer
and done away with the region’s voting system. Politically moderate public officials have faced bullying,
intimidation and threats of violence. County meetings have turned into hours-long shouting matches.

There is craziness on both ends of the political spectrum.

I am reminded of "The Second Coming," by William Butler Yeats:

Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

...which will soon be fists flying and weapons brandished.
Considering that you're more likely to be murdered on the streets of Kevin McCarthy's Bakersfield than the streets of NYC, I believe it.

Lol, McCarthy has a 2.4 ⭐ yelp rating 🇺🇲😂

Do you ever think for yourself?

The answer to your question is "Yes." That should be obvious to those who have read many of my comments.

I rarely post copy and paste jobs like you did in a recent post. Sometimes I except from someone else's article and comment on it.

Like fuck...how many times did you c&p this particular one........????? ( there are a dozen others that come to mind as well...)

I have made the following factual assertions on many occasions:

U.S. Department of Justice Office of Justice Programs Bureau of Justice Statistics November 2011

Based on available data from 1980 to 2008—  Blacks were disproportionately represented as both homicide victims and offenders. The victimization rate for blacks (27.8 per 100,000) was 6 times higher than the rate for whites (4.5 per 100,000). The offending rate for blacks (34.4 per 100,000) was almost 8 times higher than the rate for whites (4.5 per 100,000)

Quote from attached SAT/ACT article:

"Readiness for college science and math coursework was particularly low among African American students. Only 5 percent of African American test-takers scored at or above the college-readiness benchmark for college biology, and just 10
percent attained the readiness benchmark for college algebra. Ferguson said Black students were less likely than others to take tough, college-prep courses and "often don't receive the information and guidance they need to properly plan for college."

Do you claim that the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Justice Programs Bureau of Justice Statistics, the SAT, the ACT, and the U.S. Government, U.S. Census Bureay and National Center for Health Statistics are posting dishonest data.

The following bell curves demonstrate that one quarter of blacks have IQ of 75 or below. At that level they have trouble mastering minimum wage jobs. To be even marginally capable as a professional or a manager one needs an IQ of at least 115. A thin sliver of blacks are in that category.

Fuck off you racist piece of shit.

Fuck off you racist piece of shit
I use the internet to document facts I use to substantiate arguments I compose. Don't you wish you could disprove my arguments? You obviously can't.

Wonder what their voter turn out is - specials, locals, primaries, midterms and generals. Something tells me if you dig into the numbers you'll see a great number of people who don't show up to vote. Especially in specials, locals and primaries.

Name calling is the lowest form of discourse. Refuting the argument, factually, logically and politely is the highest form. That is why you are incapable of it.
Fuck off Racist. That is the only response you need. But please bring out your four hero's again.....it's been a while. I'll just C&P my previous replies.

I argue that the specials, locals and primaries are more important than the general..

You already said that. That seems to be all you can do.
*chuckles* nah I can laugh at racist assholes such as yourself as well. But feel free to start another of your Racist tainted threads, filed with all your hero's and C&P bullshit. It's been a while. In the mean time I'll disappear from this thread. I've made my point!

Yes they are. The generals have the highest voter turnout while everyone seems to ignore the others. Case in point, in my liberal blue county in a red state, barely 10% of the ELIGIBLE voters showed up for the last primary. Not registered, eligible.

The quote about evil happening when good people do nothing is very relevant. The average American is a non voting consumer. They need to wake the fuck up.

Your "point" exposes your bad character, your worse personality, and your empty mind.

It’s true.. I’m also in a red state (but in a blue city) the turnout is abysmal. I’m not going to depress myself by googling the voter turnout..

It makes me sad. There are places in this world, where you don’t get a say. Your vote is never considered. Here it matters but people feel like they have it so good, they don’t need to show up.

They are.

But how many times does it take for promises to be broken...for people to be ignored...bedore they ignore back? There are a few here that want to blame the disenfranchised for the low voter turnout instead of blaming the party for not having a policy worthy of turning out a vote. Sorry...I don't vote to keep someone else out...I vote for a candidate that fights for people like me.

It is easy to fly under the radar. You can live a very successful, productive life in the most oppressed state and not be afraid of their policies. This is the point people miss. All people want is to live.

Black kids have learned not to trust the police...not to knock on a white man's door. They have had to face this reality for my entire life. Only now....when the Whites start having to worry about their rights being stripped is it a problem. Trust me. Kids are far more intelligent than their parents. You can't lead by fear. You lead through policy. Create a policy worthy of a vote....you will get it. Just remember who was President when Roe was overturned and remember who has done nothing since. That is the real issue. Not disenfranchised voters

As the Guardian notes…

A long forgotten, left behind population.
An anti-establishment movement.
A ‘take back’ the country agenda.
Confidence in official process lost.
Pre-revolutionary conditions arise.

Where is the ‘what’ and ‘why’ analyzed?

Dribble asks, ‘how many times does it take for promises to be broken…’

The point merits consideration.

When I lived in California I worked on some city council campaigns and a signature gathering campaign for state ballot initiative. I knocked on countless doors and spoke to thousands of people. Many of the people I spoke with weren’t even sure if they were registered to vote. And very few people knew who their representative was on the city council, county board of supervisors, state assembly, state senate, and US House.

Seniors were by far the most informed and active at the ballot box. Turnout at midterms were heavily weighted toward middle aged and older voters. Taxpayer groups and property rights groups would try to time their candidates and issues with midterm cycles while the nonprofits and other progressive groups would try to get their pet issues timed for presidential cycles when the younger, less informed voters would turn out.

Get out the vote efforts were targeted appropriately by combining voter registration data with other sources, and knowing which doors to knock on or door drop, and who to call from the phone banks. Social media and text campaigns were more effective reaching younger voters, not so great for seniors (with one exception: Nextdoor).
