really ,
It's not a joke, in North Carolina today 3/4 of an inch of snow has traffic in a stand still on all major highways. Kids are stranded in some local schools, and the BF has just reported that since traffic is now gridlocked with him in front of the Hardeez he's walking in to order a burger. He got off at 2:00 pm today and now at 9:45 my time has yet to make it half way home. The news is covering the traffic jam, and it doesn't look to be getting any better.
REALLY 3/4 of an inch of snow..
This has to make our State look really dumb to anyone with REAL weather problems. None the less I will be up late worrying, as more and more accidents happen.
If you're up send me a good vibe.(mentally I have a few of the other kind)
:(

Lisa,

Good vibes heading your way. We've seen this all too often though. (I always thought that if I lived in a place like that I would have to make myself another custom van. Then I could just pull off to the side of the road and relax.)

Cat

lol

thanks for the advice
and now i want a custom van for that reason too!
When I was 17 I just wanted one so I could paint it in neon daisys and put a mattress in the back for all my drunks friends.
(sigh) The times they change

Pump your brakes and steer into the skid.

Zoot,

You actually have to be moving in order to skid. I don't think anyone in NC is movina anywhere from the sound of it. ;)

Nymphy,

Sending positive e-vibes along the wire. :rose:

(And yeah, all those problems from 3/4 of an inch of snow is kinda silly. :p )

I wonder how many people have run out of gas after leaving their cars idling that entire time.....

I wouldn't worrt too much. How much trouble can he really get in a 3 mph?

If you live in an area where it snows (or even rains) infrequently the typical driver jusr cannot cope. Thus chaos reigns on the highways. However, it could be worse.

In 1991 there was about 2 3/4 inches of rain in the San Diego area over perhaps 30 hours. In most places this would be a heavy rain, but nothing to even really remark about. However. 14 people DROWNED in Tijuana just South of San Diego due to the runoff from the storm.

Good point, though I remember driving once on sheet ice with water over it where cars were crashing in slow motion at like five miles an hour. It was like the dodgem cars. You'd spin your wheel and pump your brakes and still you'd be sliding sideways down the ice.

Someone should have been playing waltz music. It might have beautiful in a crunchy kind of way.

Sending good vibes . . . though this eerily sounds like every day in L.A. Dinner at six? Short trip down Ventura, ok, leave at 10am the day before.
