Oops! Make that 600 million!

Outages in the northern and eastern power grid spread over 13 provinces including the Indian capital New Delhi paralysed nearly half the country, disrupting air, rail, medical and communication services.

Hundreds of people in a mine in Calcutta are also reportedly trapped after the power cut.

Several carriages of Delhi’s metro system, which carries 1.8 million daily were stranded underground in oppressively hot and humid conditions for extended periods

Are the Chinese getting a little practice for Europe or the US?

It would not surprise me if all the power grids, equipment, and supplies were all made in China. That alone would explain a lot.

Britain recently commissioned some new oil refuellers for the Royal Navy from Korea. I hope they detect all the El-Int devices someone manages to place on them during construction. Why look for an aircraft carrier when you can follow the refuellers to a mid-ocean RV?

Has something happened to South Korea's military satellites that would necessitate such tracking of British warships?

India's infrastructure is possibly its largest problem.

Apart from improvements in the generation and distribution of electricity, the transport networks are struggling and need investment.

Unfortunately the same statement could be made about the UK, and the US.

Although the UK and US have better infrastructure than India, repairs, replacements and improvements have been lagging behind demand for decades. Unless something is done soon to replace the UK's ageing nuclear power stations, electricity blackouts will be commonplace in ten years time.

I'll be firing up my antique diesel generator...

Strange that you think it would be Korean, let alone South Korean. And why not have a backup? Especially one that might relay real time audio or video?

The so-called better infrastructure can be its own Achilles Heel. Just look at NatWest, and that was merely incompetence. What might enemy action look like?

There is a bright side to this...No hindu call centers!

I love the whole "My name is Rick" thing. No it's not, motherfucker. Aint nobody named Rick in your whole damn country. Why the fuck you gotta start out lying to me? Is that any way to do business? It's not like I'm gonna call you by your name anyway so just say whatever the fuck it is so we can get off on the right foot. Did I lie to you when you asked for my serial number and what operating system I'm using? No, I did not.

Classic. Never thought of that. Now, if the rumour that the RBS/NatWest/Ulster Bank hiatus was a result of an cock-up at an Indian processing centre is true, I'll bet their boards are shitting themselves all over again.
