This topic came up today at a party I was attending. It was put out there that this may be a publicity stunt to garner both of them some fame and attention to promote their careers, because, you know, actually having talent is so passe.

My thoughts on this particular matter is that this is just creepy, he being a pedophile and she being an attention wh*** looking for a quick way to fame.

I'm not against large age differences between more mature consenting adults, say her being 25+ and him being 70+, but 16/51 is just effing creepy. I too heard that she had the consent of her parents, equally creepy! Who in their right mind would consent to their 16 year old daughter marrying a guy 3 times her age?

My husband is 16 years older than I am, and I have to admit that if I had met him when I was 16 and he was 32, a relationship would have been the last thing on my mind. At that age, I thought 32 was old!

I agree with many - she definitely looks at least 10 years older than 16, so it made me wonder if she really is 16 (look at her hands. Just sayin')

That being said, it just boggles my mind. It's not the age difference but rather the fact that she's so young. When I was 16 - and I was extremely mature for my age - I had no clue what I wanted, much less if I wanted to get hitched. Furthermore, what parent willingly gives consent to a daughter to marry someone 3 times her age? Just doesn't make sense. Furthermore, how long have they dated? When she was 15? Didn't that freak her Mother out a little? Didn't that want to make her Father shoot him? The whole thing just doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

As for there age who cares its there choice there life let them live it and make there mistakes. That's the problem now day's we worry about what everyone else is doing and not watching our own back. As for the question of how could the parents do this, parents make decisions all the time to use their kids as a conduit to fame/money. Parents continued to allow their kids to stay over night with Michael Jackson after repeated accusations and arrest. They did not care if little Johnny got his asshole enlarged as the pay off to make it go away would be substantial.
