Have you seen the US Google logo today? They have depicted the entire country in a two-inch block--from sea to shining sea and from north to south. They got everybody in there! Excellent! I'd like to send them a high-five, but I don't know how to write to them and express my thanks. Does anyone know how to send them an email?

In the meantime, Happy 4th of July, America!

The beauty of being in the mouth of the river off the point on the 4th is that the extended horizon in all directions enables one to see fireworks going off in nearly every point of the compass. We'll see 360° worth of celebrations.


Many years ago, as a refugee, I was living on the 31st floor of a high rise and the same principle operated. It was possible to see fireworks ( and they almost seemed to be at eye-level ) in every direction.
